Broken Hearts May Actually Be Able To Cause Death

(NaturalNews) The expression "he/she died of a broken heart" is often used to describe someone who has died after having been depressed for a long time. Usually that person drinks or drugs himself/herself to death after a desperate period of loss, bitter disappointment, or environmentally induced depression.

But there is another situation that brings on all the actual symptoms of a heart attack, usually after an overwhelming emotional crisis or even a sudden shock from extreme joy or excitement. That type of "heart attack" is often called broken heart syndrome or more technically stress cardiomyopathy or takotsubo cardiomyopathy.

The latter medical term for broken heart syndrome is based on the appearance of the heart chamber that is paralyzed, similar to a Japanese fisherman's cooking pot called takotsubo. This type of stress induced heart attack is usually survived quickly without further cardiac complications.

If a cardiac arrest is from clogged arteries, then there is usually a long term heart condition that follows if one survives the initial attack. Occasionally, but rarely does one die from stress cardiomyopathy.

Women survive cardiomyopathy more easily than men. Perhaps that's due to men's tendency to accumulate and store stress issues within their bodies, creating a tipping point for death when the heart stops briefly.

Cardiologists conjecture that positive or negative stress induced adrenalin surges so violently through the heart that it causes a lower chamber to get stuck or paralyzed temporarily. Then the upper chambers overwork to compensate this situation, creating all the symptoms of a heart attack.

How grief figures into this

Broken heart syndrome occurs more commonly among bereaved individuals who have lost loved ones, especially after a long period of illness for the deceased. So there are truly cases of dying from broken hearts.

The heart region in the non-physical ethereal or energetic region of the body has been recognized as the seat of emotions. Those who don't completely grieve a lost spouse or long term partner or close relative — more precisely, go through enough grief phases or let it all out — often don't live much longer after the partner's death.

This is a more acute phenomenon among bereaved individuals who don't have much or any remaining close family or good friends for emotional support. This shortened life span doesn't have to end with a heart attack, though they're demise is often referred to as having died of a broken heart.

This situation results from a decline of life energy and the immune system, causing any illness that was once easily survived to result in death. This is especially true for the elderly if there is no other purpose for living. The will to live becomes exhausted.

We are in a culture that rejects rather than accepts death as inevitable. Not just for ourselves, but also for a lost loved one. It's wise to prepare emotionally for that situation almost as much as preparing financially for spouse and family for your own inevitable death.

Combination Tetanus, Whooping Cough Vaccine Linked To Baby Seizures

(NaturalNews) If you choose to have your baby vaccinated with the combination diphtheria, tetanus, whooping cough (pertussis), polio and Haemophilus influenzae type 2 vaccine, a mega-jab collectively known as the DTap-IPV-Hib, your child may be at an increased risk of having a vaccine-induced seizure. A new study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association has identified a clear link between the vaccine and the onset of fever-related seizures, which the authors claim will not cause long-term damage.

Yuelian Sun from Aarhus University in Denmark and her colleagues evaluated data on roughly 380,000 babies born in Denmark between 2003 and 2008. Children in that country are recommended to get the vaccine at three different times — once when they are three months old, again when they are five months old, and a third time on their first birthday. Upon analysis, the researchers determined that about 7,800 of these children, or just over two percent, had been diagnosed with a fever-related seizure by the time they reach one-and-a-half years old.

The risk of having a fever-related seizure appears to increase after each subsequent jab with the vaccine, and particularly on the same day that it is administered. And yet the study authors and others insist the DTap-IPV-Hib vaccine is safe because such seizures allegedly do not cause brain damage or other permanent harm. Dr. Eugene Shapiro, a pediatrics and infectious diseases researcher at Yale University, actually purports that these findings are "reassuring," and that parents should not be concerned.

Even more absurd was study author Sun's response to the findings, in which she suggested that perhaps injected babies who had a seizure in response to the vaccine were just genetically prone to seizures, and that the vaccine had nothing to do with it. This and other nonsensical responses to studies that identify health risks associated with vaccines are typical. It is always anything but the vaccine that is responsible for causing harm — "Have you ever drunk raw milk at any time in your life? That must have been the cause of the seizure!"

According to the Vaccine Awareness Network, the DTap-IPV-Hib vaccine contains diphtheria and tetanus toxoids, five components of the bordetella pertussis bacteria, filamentous haemagglutinin (the component of the bacteria which causes infection), pertactin (a highly immunogenic virulence factor), three types of inactivated polio virus, types 1, 2 and 3, a component of Haemophilus influenzae type B that has been attached to tetanus toxoid to make babies produce more antibodies, and three different types of antibiotics — neomycin, streptomycin, and polymyxin B.

Besides this barrage of pathogens and pathogenic components, the vaccine also contains deadly preservatives and additives like formaldehyde (rat poison), 2-phenoxyethanol (a detergent that is the main ingredient in anti-freeze), aluminum, and polysorbate 80 (an emulsifier implicated in causing male infertility).

There are also more than 3,500 reports in the Department of Health and Human Services' (HHS) Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS) about serious adverse events associated with the DTap-IPV-Hib vaccine. These include, but are not limited to, Moraxella catarrhalis, streptococcus pneumonia, asthma, anaphylactic reactions, pancreatitis, gastrointestinal dysfunction, peripheral neuropathy, Guillain-Barre syndrome, and meningitis.

Why The Medical Establishment Will Never Find A Cause or Cure For Autism

Komen Foundation's "Race for the Cure" for breast cancer, the autism industry pretends to be looking for the causes of autism and how to cure it, when in reality it is on a never-ending hunt for money to fund so-called research into the bodily changes associated with autism in order to push more profit-generating screenings and drug therapies on the public.

The worldwide propaganda campaign that continues to repeat the lie that vaccines are in no way related to autism is one great example of the medical establishment covering up one of the most obvious causes of autism. Rather than actually investigate how the body responds to vaccines, and how these responses are clearly associated with the neurological damage that is part and parcel of autism symptoms, researchers continue to churn out studies that completely avoid any investigation of this or any other likely cause of autism.

Instead, the vast majority of autism studies, which happen to be funded mostly by the pharmaceutical industry, focus solely on the physical, genetic, and chemical changes that accompany the disease, and ignore trying to identify the causes that lead to these changes in the first place. This approach is deliberate, of course, because it facilitates the development of an endless cycle of drug and behavioral therapies for autism that never get to the root of the problem, which means they will forever generate a continuous stream of new profits.

"To find a disease cause and solution to prevent disease isn't profitable," says a recent article in Gaia Health that addresses this important issue. "However, to find even the most miniscule physical, genetic, or chemical change in someone with an existing disease means that even more money can be squeezed out of the research funders like the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH), agencies funded by taxpayers. Anything that leads away from causes and focuses on the physiochemical effects of autism always leads to more questions and more research funds."

Vitamin D and Cancer – Nine Facts “They” Won’t Tell You

If something so powerful is actually available for everyone, why wouldn't someone take advantage of it?

The recent discovery that the body, with the help of vitamin D, possesses the capacity to fight many chronic illnesses has spurred the interest of many researchers – especially on the possibilities the sunshine vitamin can offer with regard to the prevention and reversal of diseases like cancer. A brief rundown of some facts, revealed by recent studies, can give us a perspective on how vitamin D can help.

1. Vitamin D slashes cancer risk by 77 percent.

A study was conducted involving 1, 179 healthy Nebraskan women who were divided into a control group and a placebo group. In the four years the study was conducted, the group who was receiving vitamin D and calcium supplements revealed a 60 percent decrease in cancers as compared to the placebo group.

2. Vitamin D can prevent cancer.

According to the National Cancer Institute, 80 percent of cancer cases can be prevented. Having a healthy and balanced diet can prevent cancer. An example would be a diet that is low in refined sugar and processed meat and high in fruits, leafy vegetables and vitamin D from dietary sources or the sun. Studies have shown that a diet high in animal products and dairy that contain hormones and saturated fat cause breast cancer.

3. Sunshine offers powerful healing.

In a study conducted by the French in 2011 on 60,000 post menopausal women, it was discovered that women with increased levels of vitamin D obtained through diet and supplement reduced their risk of breast cancer. 4. There are private interests involved.

The medical establishment's dismissive take on vitamin D and its effects on cancer cannot seriously be taken in the light of new research supporting the effect of vitamin D on cancer. One cannot help but be suspicious of this rather cold shoulder treatment, especially when non-profit organizations that supposedly support the active search for a cure have financial ties with pharmaceutical companies, mammography equipment companies and other organizations that profit from cancer. Moreover, research on vitamin D is a threat to the cancer industry because it shows a way of dealing with cancer for free.

5. Chemotherapy does not work.

One of the current remedies offered by conventional medicine when dealing with cancer is chemotherapy. Let it be said once and for all: chemotherapy does not have any positive effect on cancer. There is no scientific evidence that supports such fact. It shrinks tumors, but it doesn't initiate the healing that needs to take place to reverse cancer and to stay cancer free. What's more, its side effects are well documented – effects that worsen the patient's condition instead of improving it.

6. The recommended daily allowance of vitamin D does not provide cancer prevention benefits.

The revised recommended daily intake provided for vitamin D (600 IU for children and adults until 70 years old and 800 IU for adults above 70) has been criticized as below the required levels that provide anti-cancer effects. According to Dr. Cedric Garland, recent studies have shown that daily intakes of vitamin D by adults along the range of 4,000 – 8,000 IU is necessary to maintain the vitamin D blood levels needed to reduce the risk of several diseases including cancer.

7. Exposure to the sun does not necessarily cause skin cancer.

A study conducted by researchers from Leeds University in 2009 found that increased levels of vitamin D were linked to improved skin cancer survival odds. Since most people are vitamin D deficient, it has left them vulnerable to a host of other diseases including cancer. The advantages of getting enough sun exposure far outweigh the disadvantages that are now being questioned by breakthrough science.

8. Cancer can be inherited.

The idea that cancer runs in families is a popular theme in the medical establishment. However, tons of research has now shown that cancer can be avoided through the maintenance of increased vitamin D levels in the blood. If a direct ancestor had cancer, chances are they were exposed to cancer causing agents like cigarette smoke, skin care products or chemical solvents. By identifying and avoiding these agents, you have lowered your chances of getting cancer.

9. Watch what you eat.

Our nutrition actually determines our health. Recent findings have shown that the prevention and treatment of cancer may not necessarily be solved by an expensive drug but something that has always been available to us – good food. According to a new study by researchers from the Harvard School of Public health, men who eat fish five times a week run a 40 percent lower risk of developing colorectal cancer, , and fish is an excellent source of vitamin D.

We are now at a point in time when we can choose our healing process. Having the courage to avail of other methods than what is offered by conventional medicine may spell the difference between a better quality of life and a difficult and questionable recovery. Cancer prevention is now a matter of choice. We can avoid it or we can invite it. It's all up to us.

Diabetes: An Entirely Preventable & Reversible Condition

The title of this article may sound like heresy to those who have been schooled to believe that when diabetes "happens" to you, it is with you for life. There is far more to the story than both drug and naturally-based palliative medicine normally touches upon.

According to the American Diabetes Association (ADA) statistics, diabetes now afflicts 25.8 million Americans, or 8.3% of our population. Only 5% of diabetics are type 1, where through autoimmune destruction of insulin producing beta-cells, they are told they have a lifelong dependence on insulin. The rest are classified as type 2, resulting from insulin resistance (the cells of the body stop responding to insulin) combined in some cases with insulin deficiency. Additionally, according to the ADA 1 in every 4 Americans have pre-diabetes, or 79 million.

What's causing this epidemic?

While geneticists apply vast amounts of time, energy and money to finding the "causes" of disease in our genes, much less attention is placed on well-known triggers of autoimmunity such as infections, vaccines, pesticide and petroleum exposure (diesel fuel particles) and the consumption of foods like wheat, cow's dairy and soy (unfermented, GMO and/or excessive) are the major contributing factors in the development of type 1 diabetes. Additionally, the consumption of high fructose corn syrup and hydrogenated oil and basic deficiencies of omega-3 fatty acids, magnesium and chromium contribute to the development of type 2 diabetes.

Blaming "bad genes" on diseases like diabetes is a convenient way to escape the obvious things we can do individually, and as a culture, to prevent the escalation of an already epidemic problem.

We shouldn't settle for the unlikely prospect of a future "cure" via the pharmaceutical pipeline, gene therapy, stem cell research or similar high-priced technological endeavors, when the cause (and therefore the cure) of diabetes may be as close to us as what is at the end of our fork.

It is accepted truth that type 1 diabetes involves the immune system attacking the insulin-producing beta cells in the pancreas. Subsequent damage to the pancreas leads to the reduced capacity to produce insulin. While geneticist look for the "bad genes" that are supposedly "causing" the autoimmune problem, it is well documented that in susceptible individuals something in wheat known as gliadin, for instance, stimulates diabetogenic class II HLA antigens on the surface of the pancreatic islet cells (cells that normally do no display these antigens), marking them for autoimmune destruction. Not everyone who eats wheat will develop diabetes. Different people will exhibit differing degrees of susceptibility to wheat proteins and this is why it is right to say that there is a "genetic component" to the development of type 1 diabetes, or to any disease. But acknowledging the existence of genetic differences and differing susceptibilities to illness in a population is not to say that genes are "causing" the disease (read my short essay on why genes don’t “cause” disease here).

In the case of the wheat protein gliadin, it is not the gene that is causing the islet cell to present an antigen on its surface. It takes wheat gliadin to activate the genes necessary for this cellular transformation. To use an analogy, the genes predisposing one to higher risk for diabetes are like an "unloaded gun." The "bullets" are certain antigenic foods like wheat, cow's dairy and (unfermented, GMO and/or excessive) soy. The "triggers" that "fire" this "loaded gun" are varied, from prolonged exposure to these foods, to increased intestinal/gut permeability, vaccinations, viral infections, pesticide and chemical exposures and perhaps a multitude of as of yet unknown factors.

If we know that the two most commonly lauded "health foods," cow's milk products and wheat are implicated in the development of type 1 diabetes, wouldn't it be a good idea to remove them from the diets of our young as a precaution? What is the other alternative? Succumb to the fatalistic fallacies of the "gene theory" of disease, and just hope that our children won't develop the disease because they do not have "the bad gene," or have just been lucky in the game of nutritional Russian roulette?

Even after the beta cells in the pancreas have experienced significant levels of destruction, and there is now insufficient insulin to keep blood sugar below toxic levels, the medical establishment pretends like the body’s self-healing and regenerative abilities don’t exist. Every minute 60,000 cells in our body are reborn, and over the course of 100 days all approximately 17 trillion are replaced by new cells. If one can remove the causes of autoimmune self-destruction by clearing infections, removing diabetogenic foods, correcting mineral and vitamin deficiencies and imbalances, shifting the tissue and blood pH back from dangerously acidic levels, and supplementing the diet with proven beta-cell regenerating foods, herbs, or nutrients, the pancreas (in some cases) can regenerate beta cell function. Ideally a good endocrinologist or clinician will test for C-peptide levels the moment (s)he is confronted with a newly diagnosed type 1 diabetic. The proinsulin precursor to insulin produced by your beta cells is composed of three parts: two insulin side chains, named A and B, and a peptide holding the two together known as C. Once the proinsulin is enzymatically degraded by the beta cells and its constituent parts released into serum to do their job, it splits off into three separate parts leaving the C-peptide as an accurate marker of just how much insulin the diabetic body is producing. Taking a baseline reading at the beginning of treatment establishes the pancreas’ level of health insofar as it reflects its remaining capacity to produce insulin. Instead of blindly throwing synthetically produced insulin at the problem (which through a negative feedback loop may cause beta cell regeneration to flounder, or cause further atrophy of those cells) a bare minimum of insulin should be used while encouraging the diabetic pancreas to come back on line with more of its own production.  Also, natural substances could be used that protect the remaining beta cells from further degeneration.

Moreover, the form of insulin being passed on as “bioidentical” with misleading names like Humulin and Humolog is a byproduct of recombinant DNA technology. All prescribed forms on the market, including Lantus, come from GMO E. coli bacteria which produce a form which is not as compatible with the human body as the once universally available bovine or porcine forms. Access to glandular extracts have been barred in the US mostly due to drug company pressures (You can order these animal forms from Canada over the internet). If the drug companies and their enforcers (FDA) have their way, all bio-identicals and/or animal glandulars will be made illegal or unavailable in the future, including Armour thyroid in favor of levothyroxine.

Ultimately, type 1 diabetes can be prevented. Even after there is established damage to the pancreas, much of the damage can be reversed. These words may be heretical to the conventional medical establishment, but absolutely rudimentary from the perspective of basic biology and enlightened nutrition

Type 2 diabetes, and the pre-diabetic state of insulin resistance that precedes it, are caused by the following preventable factors:

1) Excessive consumption of empty calories.  

2) Inactivity; lack of exercise.

3) Consumption of “hidden sweets,” which are high-glycemic foods that don’t taste sweet but make the blood sweet, e.g pasta, cereal, crackers.

a) Excess sugar, but even worse….high fructose corn syrup, and other sources of concentrated fructose: e.g. agave.

4) Hydrogenated oils.

5) Nutritional deficiencies of minerals, especially magnesium, chromium and zinc, and omega 3 fatty acids, as found in foods like flaxseed, walnuts and wild fish.

6) Chemical exposures, including environmental pollution, e.g. pesticides, and drugs, e.g. various prescribed and over the counter drugs.

One of the basic mechanisms of insulin-resistant hyperglycemia (type 2 diabetes) is as follows:

When we eat beyond our capacity, excess energy is stored in the body as glycogen and saturated fat. When through prolonged over-consumption of food our body no longer has room to store these unneeded calories, insulin resistance emerges. In order to protect from over-nutrition, the fat and muscle cells begin to lose the number of insulin receptors and/or loose function, thus reducing the amount of glucose that may enter. This causes the blood sugar to raise to unhealthy levels, leaving the pancreas with no other option than to overcompensate and produce more insulin. The resultant elevation of insulin levels can cause a number of adverse cardiovascular, neurological and endocrine effects.

If this cycle continues, eventually the insulin producing beta cells may become exhausted and lose their ability to produce insulin, resulting in “double diabetes” where you have low insulin and high blood sugar as well as insulin resistance.

Caloric restriction (especially carbohydrates) becomes of vital importance in forestalling the development of type 2 diabetes. Exercise is essential in helping the body use up stored energy, converting calories consumed into calories burned. Exercise has the opposite effect of over-eating, increasing the number of insulin receptors in muscle and increasing the sensitivity of the body to insulin thus releasing the pancreas of the burden of constant insulin production. Exercise also results in the release of appetite suppressing hormones and neurotransmitters which help to forestall over-eating.

Carbohydrates generally have an insulin secreting effect on the body because they have a high glycemic rating, relative to proteins and fat. That is to say, carbohydrates cause the blood to become sweeter than protein or fat, which are broken down slowly in the body, independently of insulin. Even so-called "complex carbohydrates" like puffed rice have higher glycemic ratings (110) than white sugar (80), which is itself 50% fructose, and therefore less likely to induce an insulin response than these "whole grains." On the flip side, fructose while having a low glycemic rating, can raise blood sugar on the back end by reducing the affinity of insulin for its receptor contributing to insulin resistance and elevating blood glucose. Fructose also undergoes glycation ("caramelization") much more readily than other carbohydrates, which contributes to much of the morbility and mortality associated with elevated blood sugar.

When it comes to "whole grains," no food category is associated with greater misunderstanding in realm of blood sugar disorders. The perception that "whole grains" are good for our health and should be consumed in plenty is based on the assumption that the millions of years of biological evolution that preceded the advent of the agrarian revolution (circa 10,000 b.c.) are no longer relevant. We spent 300,000 years as archaic homo sapiens in the capacity of hunters, gatherers and foragers, where the consumption of cereal grasses, and especially the seed form of these grasses, would not have occurred with any regularity, if at all, excepting starvation pressures.  

Our metabolism is simply not designed for large amounts of starch, sugar, and synthetically produced sweeteners and fats. We need fruits, vegetables, seeds and nuts, and high quality sources of protein in plenty. Evidence exists demonstrating that the glycoproteins in starchy grains known as "lectins," can bind to the leptin receptors in the hypothalamus blocking out the appetite suppressing effects of the hormone leptin. This is one reason why bread, pasta, cereal, crackers, etc. can generate incessant cravings and contribute to a condition known as "leptin resistance." Wheat lectin also has affinity for insulin receptors in the body which could result in both insulin-receptor stimulation based weight gain and/or insulin resistance, and which explains why it is used to get cattle to slaughter weight quicker.

High Fructose Corn Syrup (HFCS) and purified fructose have both been shown to cause insulin resistance in rats and humans. There are, in fact, over 70 other adverse health effects linked to purified fructose consumption. Hydrogenated oils also dramatically reduce the responsiveness of our muscle and fat to insulin, whereas omega 3 fatty acids increase that responsiveness.

Fukushima Radiation Detected 400 miles Away In Pacific Ocean

(NaturalNews) The Fukushima Daiichi nuclear disaster is far from over, as new reports explains that water samples taken nearly 400 miles off the coast of Japan in the Pacific Ocean are showing radiation levels of up to 1,000 times higher than previous readings. Presenting their findings at the recent Ocean Sciences Meeting in Salt Lake City, Ut., scientists continued to claim these severely elevated radiation levels are not a significant health or environmental threat.

Back in June 2011, a ship carrying scientists traveled off the eastern coast of Japan collecting water samples at distances of roughly 20 miles to 400 miles from the coast. Upon analysis, these samples were found to contain elevated levels of cesium-137 at ten to 1,000 times higher than levels detected before the Fukushima disaster, which is highly alarming.

Included in the detections was the presence of radioactive silver, which is an obvious product of melted control rods at the nuclear facility. The mainstream media is claiming that this silver is simply a result of nuclear fission, but the reality of the situation is that this silver is evidence of a complete core meltdown at the facility, which is obviously having widespread repercussions.

Meanwhile, Hartmut Nies, an official from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), insists that all this radiation is not that big of a deal. He even went so far at the recent meeting to claim that "if it was not seawater, you could drink it without any problems," a completely absurd position that has no grounding in science.

As part of their misinformation campaign, IAEA officials and others compared the radioactive cesium and silver to the naturally-occurring, elemental potassium-40 found in seawater. This natural potassium, of course, is much different than the radioactive elements being emitted from Fukushima, as sea creatures have developed a natural tolerance for potassium-40.

Even those falsely claiming that all this radiation is completely harmless to humans are at least admitting that the findings are indicative that the Fukushima nuclear facility is still leaking radiation into the environment. Marine chemist Ken Buesseler, for instance, who recently said radioactive seafood is safe and that he would eat it, told Fish Info & Services that the reactor "still seems to be leaking," and that it "hasn't shut off completely."

Coffee: Drug, Medicine or Sacrament?

It is inhumane, in my opinion, to force people who have a genuine medical need for coffee to wait in line behind people who apparently view it as some kind of recreational activity. ~ David Barry

Coffee is a drug, we know that. Some of us in fact revel in its addictive properties, as it comes with a certain — albeit a tad bit pathological —  industriousness. After all, is there anyone more disciplined/obsessed than a coffee drinker — at least, that is, when it comes to acquiring and drinking coffee? You can set your clocks with exactitude to the performance of their daily coffee-associated machinations — they themselves often setting their coffee makers to clocks, so as not to delay or miss an opportunity to imbibe.  The type of sober religiosity required to turn drinking a beverage into a ritual is known only by a few Zen tea drinkers and quite possibly billions of habitual coffee drinkers. 

Let us also not forget that one of the first documented uses of coffee over 500 years ago was in the Sufi monasteries of Yemen where coffee was known as qahhwat al-bun, or, the 'wine of the bean,' the phrase which provided the etymological origin of the word coffee.  Once lauded as a "miracle drug" and used as a sacrament in late-night rituals to invoke the sensation of God within revelers, still today, coffee drinkers are known to cast themselves into bouts of coffee-drinking induced reverie and enthusiasm (literally: en "in"  + theos "god" or "god-filled") by drinking this strangely intoxicating, and yet somehow still sobering concoction. 

It is interesting that even addictions can be viewed as a form of ritual — albeit degenerated ones (i.e. less regenerative than truly sacred ones), performed with less consciousness than would be expected of a holy, whole-making act. But that cup of Joe gets us up in the morning to perform our secular duties, which says a lot considering what many of us are forced or coerced to do for a living.

While many attribute coffee's vice-like hold on their physiology to its caffeine content, there is much more going on than a fixation on a stimulant. Its been known for ove a quarter of a century that coffee contains a compound with powerful opiate-like properties and which is found within both caffeinated and decaffeinated forms. The average cup of coffee contains five times the amount needed for what is known as the half maximal effective concentration (ED50), which is a measure of a drug's potency indicating a response halfway between the baseline and maximum. The 'narcotic' properties of coffee are no doubt due to a complex interplay between a wide range of compounds, but at least one compound has been identified that is responsible for increasing the release of our own opioids within the body: namely, cafestrol, a diterprene found within the oil of coffee, known to have potent pain-killing properties.

Coffee is also a 'brain-booster' and contains a compound called trigonelline which both stimulates the release of dopamine (not unlike cocaine), and stimulates neurite outgrowth, which involves the extension of dendrites and axons in neurons and which may compensate and rescue damaged neuronal networks in the aging brain. One of the greatest nutrition philosophers of all time, Rudolf Hauschka, described coffee's affect on our body-mind as follows:

Coffee makes us more aware of our bodily structure. And since this structure is so wise and logical, our thoughts become logical in their awareness of it. Coffee thus helps thinking to find a firm foundation. The connection between bodily being and thinking, keeps calling itself to our attention. Coffee has the same effect on digestion that thought has on our upper man, i.e., a properly ordered metabolism goes hand in hand with orderly thinking. Both are founded on a properly ordered physical structure."

Coffee is also one of the only sources of "bitters" remaining in the sweet-fixated Western diet, which sadly comes with a certificate of guarantee that the bearer will likely develop type 2 diabetes, heart disease or cancer at some point in their life. Could the extreme bitterness of coffee be the reason why it has been repeatedly shown to reduce type 2 diabetes risk, as it is one of the only ways we can balance out the highly inappropriate excesses of carbohydrate in our modern dietary configuration? We don't normally think of grains as sweet, but they are on the glycemic index. Puffed rice, for instance, can make the blood sweeter than white sugar which is why carbs are known as "crouching diabetes, hidden sugar." Coffee contains a wide range of blood-glucose and insulin sensitizing compounds, making it an ideal complement to a carbohydrate-deranged diet.

Coffee also awakens and stimulates the Qi, as it is known in the Chinese medical tradition. This was recently discussed in an article entitled "Similarity between coffee effects and qi-stimulating events" which can be read here. While raising Qi through exercise and energy work is the ideal situation, coffee provides a short-cut which is the modus operandi in the modern world: instant gratification in exchange for (energy) indebtedness.

Medscape Offers Doctors Education Credits For Reading Raw Milk Propaganda

(NaturalNews) Demand for raw milk is off the charts all across the country, which is presumably why the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) conveniently decided to release a new raw milk hit-piece recently, which was carefully designed to scare people away from drinking it. Filled with lies, distortions, and blatant data manipulations, this so-called study is now being used as a propaganda tool to brainwash doctors, as Medscape, a popular information resource for physicians, is offering the medical community continuing education credits (CMEs) for reading the article and taking a short test.

In case you missed it, Adam J. Langer from the CDC and several colleagues recently dredged up some data from between 1993 and 2006 that they used to claim that raw milk, also known as fresh milk, is 150 times more likely to cause a food-borne illness outbreak than pasteurized milk. As usual, the data was selectively cherry-picked, massaged, and deliberately crafted in such a way as to vilify raw milk and make it out to be a type of dangerous poison, all under the guise of science.

But as has been pointed out by David E. Gumpert on his blog The Complete Patient, data from the CDC study when interpreted correctly actually shows that raw milk is responsible for a mere 0.5 percent of all food-borne illness outbreaks on average, the vast majority of which involve raw milk and raw milk products bootlegged from filthy factory farms. In reality, there are only between 25 and 175 reported illnesses every year that may be related to raw milk.

Considering the CDC's estimate that three percent of the U.S. population drinks raw milk, this number is extremely low, and actually shows how safe raw milk really is. The current U.S. population is just under 312 million people as of this writing, which means that nearly ten million people in America drink raw milk. This means that as little as 0.00025 percent, or twenty-five thousandths of one percent, of all raw milk drinkers will develop an illness that may be related to the consumption of raw milk.

The CDC's data also selectively avoids telling the truth about the number of people who have been sickened by pasteurized milk and milk products throughout the past several decades. While only 1,571 illnesses over the 14-year period included in the study were attributed to raw milk consumption, while 2,842 were attributed to pasteurized milk.

And mind you, the CDC purposely chose some of the best years for pasteurized milk. In the 1980s, for example, there were more than 216,000 known illnesses associated with the consumption of pasteurized milk. And in 2007 alone, which was outside the CDC's study period, there were three deaths associated with the consumption of pasteurized milk, and nearly 100 deaths total from pasteurized milk and milk products since 1973. Meanwhile, despite what some reports may say, there has not been a single confirmed death caused by raw milk in the 38-or-so years since data first began being collected.

None of this information can be found in any of the mainstream media reports on the CDC study, which have all blindly accepted the agency's clear bias against raw milk as if it is scientific fact. And yet such myths about the so-called dangers of raw milk are being actively perpetrated on the medical community via Medscape, which is pushing doctors to gain their much-needed CME credits by drinking this federal government Kool-Aid, so to speak, which has presumably also been pasteurized.

SULFUR – A Secret Weapon Against Every Kind of Degenerative Disease

All of us are undergoing an unprecedented level of toxic assault from radiation, GMO foods, toxic chemicals the FDA fraudulently allows to be put into food, personal care products and medication, and now more recently, chemtrails that poison our air, water and soil with toxic metals. How can we be free to experience optimal health in the face of this onslaught? As the first person in the world to call attention to the UN Codex international threat to health freedom, I’ve been on a personal quest to improve my health ever since orthomolecular medicine helped me finally escape the hell of the psychiatric system 35 years ago[1].

Although orthomolecular medicine, a suppressed nutritional treatment mode, addressed the nutritional deficiency that caused my biochemical imbalance, there were still several key missing pieces of my personal health jigsaw puzzle that I only now have fully discovered. The first was the discovery of the need to focus on the health of my gut. The second discovery was the essential role organic sulfur played in maintaining the health of my gut. And lastly, that there is really only one disease: cellular malfunction[2] due to lack of oxygen on the cellular level.

INTRODUCING YOUR SECOND BRAIN: YOUR GUT

There’s a popular expression we’ve often used: “what does your GUT tell you?” Did you realize that you have a second brain? This was a revelation to me. Hippocrates, the father of Western medicine, intuitively understood this over 2000 years ago when he stated that “all illness stems from the gut.”

The reason there is no such thing as “mental” illness is because we can’t separate the brain from the rest of the body, especially not from our small intestines. Our brains are inextricably intertwined with every organ system in the body, especially with the neurons or nerve cells in our gut. Did you know that we have more neurons in our gut that in our brain? In fact 95% percent of the “feel good” neurotransmitter serotonin manufactured in our body is not made in the brain, it’s made in our small intestines, our gut! [3]

A “healthy” person has approximately 4 pounds of beneficial probiotics comprised of beneficial bacteria, yeast and viruses that populate the gastrointestinal tract or gut. These non-human organisms are also called the “microbiome”[4] and hopefully provide a symbiotic relationship with our enterocytes or gut cells that line the small intestines by helping digest fiber and other nutrients into our body.

It's important to have more of the beneficial gut flora because they work symbiotically with our enterocytes to produce vitamins (like B1, B2, B3, B5, B6), K2, enzymes, neurotransmitters, antibiotics, and so on. In other words, ideally we have our very own biochemical factory that synthesizes the substances our bodies need to help keep our immune system intact and our moods balanced. Unfortunately, the foods we eat, the air we breathe, and the types of personal hygiene products and pharmaceutical medications we’ve taken also affects the health of our microbiome. Most often, there’s an imbalance that allows opportunistic flora to overwhelm the beneficial gut flora, thereby causing disease.

When we are born, our gastrointestinal tract is sterile, and is primarily populated with the flora from our mother as we pass through the birth canal. In essence, we “inherit” the health or imbalance of her gut flora. If she has gut dysbiosis, then the child will most likely be born with compromised immunity and may experience a range of symptoms from mild (allergies) to severe (learning disabilities like hyperactivity, autism, dyslexia, dyspraxia).

OXYGEN AND CELLULAR HEALTH

The health of the cell is very important, especially our gastrointestinal (GI) cells called enterocytes. In a healthy person, the small intestine usually is neutral in pH, the stomach is very acidic (pH 2.5) and the large intestine is usually around pH 6.5.

When we’re under stress, we get a huge acid dump into our gut, causing our small intestines to go from neutral to acidic. In the past several years, there has been a disturbing phenomenon of small intestinal bacterial overgrowth or SIBO[5] that colonize the small intestine. According to Nora T. Gedgaudas in Primal Body, Primal Mind, the large intestines and not the small ones, were meant to be colonized by bacteria. These rod-shaped bacterial colonies are associated with damaging the lining of the small intestine, and in high enough amounts, produce enough acids that are related to neurological and cognitive symptoms known as “leaky gut syndrome”. Those who suffer from celiac disease, autism, and schizophrenia often share this common symptom of “leaky gut syndrome”. What is surprising is that these rod-shaped bacteria never existed before in humans.

When cells exist in a low pH or acidic environment, their ability to transport oxygen into the cells and remove toxins becomes impaired. The lack of oxygen creates cellular malfunction, and the result is disease such as cancer.

Back in 1931, Dr. Otto Warburg, M.D., won the Nobel Prize for discovering the nature of cancer and "the mode of action of the respiratory enzyme”. Warburg said: “Cancer, above all other diseases, has countless secondary causes. But, even for cancer, there is only one prime cause. Summarized in a few words, the prime cause of cancer is the replacement of the respiration of oxygen in normal body cells by a fermentation of sugar.”[6] In other words, cancer cells proliferate in an anaerobic environment where the mitochondria inside the cells produce energy without oxygen and one of the byproducts is a build-up of lactic acid. Research for the last 50 years has shown that tumor cells use lactic acid for food and makes tumor cells resistant to radiation and chemotherapy[7].

OXYGEN AND ORGANIC SULFUR

One of the best ways to oxygenate your cells, alkalize your blood and remove toxins that can lead to cellular malfunction is to take organic sulfur. Sulfur lets oxygen in by increasing the permeability of cell membranes, and takes out the trash! Sulfur, in the form of sulphates, plays an essential role in cellular detoxification and the normal metabolism of brain neurotransmitters[8].

Organic Sulfur forms 146 different chemical combinations. Sulfur will combine with all metals except gold and platinum to form inorganic sulfides[9]. Inorganic sulfides convert these hazardous toxic metals into non-hazardous, stable forms which are safely ushered out of the body. By bonding with all the toxic heavy metals, organic sulfur can safely chelate and remove these toxic metals from our bodies!

Sulfur is the ANTIDOTE to the toxic chemtrails being sprayed on us, as well as to the increased levels of radiation stemming from the Fukoshima nuclear reactor disaster in Japan back in March 2011 which has been proven to have caused a huge rise in infant mortality in the USA and all over the world. According to the December 2011 edition of the International Journal of Health Services, 14,000 US deaths have been attributed to fallout from Fukoshima[10]. There has been a huge increase in infant mortality, especially here in the Pacific NW where I live due to radiation from the Fukoshima tragedy.

SULFUR DEFICIENCY AND DISEASE

Sulfur is found abundantly in soils rich with volcanic basalt and used to be available in eggs, onions, garlic, raspberries, turnips, and cruciferous vegetables like cabbage, broccoli, kale, etc. Unfortunately, our food today is grown in soil that is deficient in trace minerals and sulfur that our bodies need to build our immunity and repair our bodies. Since the 1950s, commercial farmers have used petroleum-based fertilizers that deplete the sulfur found in our soils. The USDA was aware of the sulfur deficiency in the soils in the south eastern US, but little was done to address or reverse the deficiency.

Today, sulfur deficiency has been linked to major diseases like obesity, heart disease, Alzheimer’s, and chronic fatigue[11]. One need only look at the Center for Disease Control’s (CDCs) own Diabetes Translation Division[12] trend maps (Figures 1 – 3) that show that obesity and diabetes comprise 26% and 9% respectively of the population in the South Eastern US from 1994 – 2008. For 2010, the trends show some states having obesity rates at 30% of their population.

Another reason for sulfur deficiency is due to the gut dysbiosis either from ingestion of prescription medication like birth control pills, antibiotics, antacids, and so on and the proliferation of sulphate-reducing microbes that make sulfur unavailable to the body, and metabolize sulfur into sulfites which are toxic to the body. In autistic children, severe deficiency of sulphate is found 95% of the time due to an overgrowth of these sulphate-reducing microbes[13].

More recently, there is a growing threat of toxicity from chemtrails. Filmmaker Michael Murphy recently completed a very solid documentary about chemtrails called “What in the World Are they Spraying?”

The spraying is going on all over the US and the world.

In one area of California, a Lake Shasta lab test from Pit River Arm tributary tested at 4,610,000 ugl (ugl=ppb or parts per billion), found over 4610 times the MCL (maximum contaminant level) for aluminum in drinking water for the State of California. A pond in Shasta County in a "filtered location" (forested hilltop away from any highway or industry) tested "0" for aluminum when the pond was constructed and filled. After 18 months' exposure to the atmosphere, the pond tested at 375,000 ugl or 375 times the MCL. Recently, snow pack sample, taken from Ski Bowl on Mt. Shasta, tested at 61,100 ugl, or 61 times the MCL for aluminum in drinking water for the State of California. A local lab test[15] revealed more than 4,000 times the safe level of aluminum was found in a pond near Mt. Shasta, California—an area anyone would consider to be a pristine wilderness area, yet no longer safe for hikers to melt the snow on the side of the mountain to use for drinking water.

Lead, mercury and cadmium steal sulfur from important proteins, which could be enzymes, hormones, or cell receptors. Conversely, sulfur is needed in the liver detox pathway to hook onto these metals and clear them from the body. So, lead, mercury and cadmium depletes sulfur, the very nutrient needed to detox the metal overload. A depletion of sulfur will also adversely affect joint connective tissue growth, since sulfur is an essential precursor to the building blocks of cartilage, namely glucosamine sulfate, chondroitin sulfate, and hyaluronic acid. [16]Good sources are egg yolks, garlic, kelp, kale, turnip, raspberries, onions, cabbage, and mustard.

With the onslaught of chemical fertilizers that deplete our soils of sulfur, plus chemtrails that add toxic metals like aluminum, barium, strontium into our air, water and soil, and GMO foods, our bodies are under constant assault. Given the unique detoxification properties of sulfur, it makes sense to begin adding organic sulfur to your daily regime of health protocols. But not all sulfurs are the same.

ORGANIC SULFUR vs. MSM

Do I hear you say “but I ALREADY HAVE some MSM!”? You might have some MSM, but unless it was made WITHOUT a high heat distillation process, which damages the sulfur crystals, and WITHOUT silicon dioxide, the anti-caking ingredient that interferes with the uptake of sulfur to the cells, it will not protect you properly from the toxic load we’re under from chemtrails and sulfur deficiency in the foods we eat!

It also won’t protect you optimally from the degenerative diseases that have been running rampant since the sulfur cycle was broken in the 1950s when farmers stopped using manure in favor of synthetic petroleum based fertilizers which increased crop yields but made the soil deficient in sulfur.

If you take the organic sulfur that I recommend put some in a shot glass, pour in some hot water, and let it evaporate, you will see large crystals form. You need sulfur that will form large crystals to work optimally in your cells. If you take most commercially available MSM, and try this, due to the damage from heat in the manufacturing process it won’t form large crystals and it takes about five times as much to even approximate the results you’ll get from the version sold through Crusador Enterprises.

With proper hydration, you will experience the following health benefits if you take organic sulfur twice a day:

Radically increased energy level: sulfur increases the permeability of cell membranes to allow for improved oxygen transport to the cells and improved waste transport from the cells. You must drink it twice a day, in the AM, and at lunchtime, 1 TSP per 100 lbs of body weight, ½ hour away from other supplements or meds, which might deactivate it, but you can take it with other food. You must hydrate properly while on sulfur because you’re flushing out toxins. We use the rule of 64 ounces of water per 100 lbs per day, which means a 200 lbs person needs 128 ounces of water per day (one gallon).

I recommend that everyone take a 5 mega pixel or greater flash digital photo of their face (without makeup) when starting sulfur. Save it to your hard drive. Take another photo every month for at least 6 months and you will see a huge improvement in your cellular health!

Crow’s feet and wrinkles will go away: Your skin will glow, it will become smoother and more supple as your cells become healthier. We grow a whole new body every seven years, but it’s only as healthy as what we put into it. There is NOTHING you can put into your body that is better for your cells than this sulfur! Remember, sulfur is a FOOD! You can even brush your teeth with sulfur!
