The Rising Tide of Autism

by: Craig Stellpflug

(NaturalNews) Autism was once thought to be a psychological disorder because of the lack of eye contact that is hallmark in the child with autism. But autism cannot be treated and cured with psycho-therapy or psychotropic drugs.

Vaccine Protocol

Autism is not a medical disorder that can be diagnosed with an X-ray or MRI and then cured with drugs or surgery. A lack of drugs is not the cause of autism! On the contrary, too much pharmaceutical intervention has been implicated as one of the multifactorial causes of autism. Autism is actually a neurodevelopment disorder according the University of California, San Francisco, Berkeley and others.

The rising tide
In 1980 there were 1 in 1,000 children with autism; measles, mumps, and rubella vaccines were administered separately for a number of years prior to 1980 with only slight increases in the incidence of child autism. That is until the introduction of the MMR vaccine in 1979. Following the start of this triple vaccine, the incidence of childhood autism showed a sharp and dramatic increase . This increase has in recent times blossomed into full-scale epidemic proportions. And we are asleep at the switch.

While better diagnostic criteria and abilities may account for some of the rise in numbers through today, the real numbers could be way higher than reported by the CDC. On closer scrutiny of the latest CDC document, the current extrapolation for autism numbers used 8 year old children born in the year 2,000 to raise the shocking number of 1 in 88 children's risk for autism. This is not a true reflection of what the autism rates really are and the real rate of autism will be much higher – as high as 1 in 25 according to estimates made by the Big Pharma embattled Dr. Andrew Wakefield.

Losing ground
The core reason the numbers for autism are so high is that we just keep stacking more and more needless vaccines on our kids. A mere two years ago the good-old-USA was number 34 in the world for infant mortality according to the CIA World Fact Book. This means that there were 33 other countries like Cuba, Hungary and Croatia that had lower infant death rates than the USA. But a glance at the current numbers shows that we have now fallen to number 48. We fell behind 14 more countries for infant deaths in just two years. What changed these numbers in that short time? More vaccines and more pharmaceuticals for the very young and their parents too…

Generation Rescue survey of vaccinated vs. unvaccinated boys:

Vaccinated boys were 185% more likely to have a neurological disorder
Vaccinated boys were 279% more likely to have ADHD
Vaccinated boys were 146% more likely to have autism

Your part
You are the only one who can stop this madness by refusing to participate in vaccines that are cytotoxic, neurotoxic and immunotoxic (well, that's pretty much all vaccines…). Don't expect for one minute that Big Pharma is going to cut down on money-making vaccines to find out if vaccines are the cause of autism. Chemicals aside, did you know that if you are Vegan you have to refuse vaccines on the principle of human fetal cells, animal proteins and other animal products that are in all the vaccines that I know of?

Natural Remedies For Migraine Headaches

by: Willow Tohi

(NaturalNews) More than thirty million people in the U.S. suffer from migraine headaches. That means that there is a migraine sufferer in twenty five percent of households, according to the National Institute of Neurological Disorders. Traditionally, sufferers use prescription drugs – 2.5 times more than the amount non-sufferers use – to help them get through it. However, even with the prescriptions, most experience an inability to function normally while having a migraine. The American Academy of Neurology says migraines range in severity and often come with a variety of symptoms from pulsating and throbbing pain, to light and sound sensitivity, to nausea and vomiting. There are a variety of triggers, including:

Migraine & Headache Protocol

Membrane Complex
Magnesium Oil

– Fluorescent lights
– Coffee
– Dehydration
– Smoking or alcohol abuse
– High blood pressure or hypoglycemia
– Vitamin B or D deficiency or mineral imbalances
– Reaction to food additives such as MSG, sugar, colorings, or preservatives
– Oral contraceptives or prescription medication
– Food allergies or intolerances

Rather than treating migraine pain with drugs that have potentially serious side effects, consider that these headaches are likely a symptom that the body is out of balance.

There are lots of ways to treat a migraine headache with natural remedies that have a better success rate and far fewer health risks than prescriptions, including herbs, supplements, acupuncture, acupressure, reflexology, and aromatherapy.

HerbsFeverfew is effective at preventing migraines, but not stopping them once they've begun. The plant's active ingredient, parthenolide, inhibits the chemicals in the brain that cause the blood vessels to dilate. Another preventative with a lot of recent success in blind trials is butterbur extract. Used medicinally since the middle ages, butterbur extract can be taken daily as a preventative to reduce the number and severity of attacks. It is available commercially in capsules, powder, tincture, or other forms and is thought to have both antispasmodic effects and anti-inflammatory properties. It should be taken for 2 to 3 months until the migraine sufferer experiences a period "free of migraines."

Self help techniques – There are several things a migraine sufferer can do after the onset of a migraine to help ease the pain. Hydrotherapy is easy, and it works. Contrast showers help with many ailments. Stand in water as hot as you can stand for two minutes (this increases blood flow to the skin), then as cold as you can stand for two minutes (this sends blood to the core of the body). Alternate back and forth for 20 minutes to increase blood flow and circulation, bringing nutrients to organs and carrying away toxins. Another way to use water to help with a headache is to put your feet in very cold water and a hot rag on the back of your neck. This helps bring the blood down out of your head, by sending it to your feet.

Working acupressure points such as pinching the soft tissue between your thumb and forefinger can help alleviate pain as well. Another technique is to put your thumb in your mouth on the same side as the migraine pain, reaching up to find the cheekbone. Press that bone up and out. Repeat on the other side. Then place both thumbs on the upper palate (inside the mouth) and press the sides out. Several repetitions may be necessary. Relax and breath deep. Slowly inhale and exhale all the way out.

Last but probably most important, make the necessary diet corrections. There is no substitute for water. When you are thirsty, it is not for coffee or soda, but water and only water. When you drink anything else, you need more water to flush that out. Drink half your body weight in ounces of water each day. Eating more vegetables and juicing are the best ways to correct nutritional deficiencies and correct your body's pH. Supplements help.

Aromatherapy – Peppermint and lavender are used most often, but rosemary, eucalyptus, sandalwood, and basil often work well also.

Birth Defects – Could Epilim Be the New Thalidomide?

by: D Holt

(NaturalNews) After the scandal of Thalidomide, it was said that important lessons were learned, and that it should never happen again. Now it comes to light that another set of drugs are causing birth defects, and have been since the seventies.

Detox Protocol
Colloidal Gold

Thalidomide was a "calming" drug used in the fifties to treat morning sickness, and led to birth deformities such as shortened or missing limbs, impaired hearing and eyesight, and internal injuries. This resulted in claims which cost millions of dollars to the pharmaceutical companies. The World Health Organization (WHO) banned Thalidomide, the ban lasting from 1962 to 1985 when it was approved for use again, this time in third world countries for the treatment of leprosy, and more recently AIDS and cancer.

The drugs now causing birth defects are anti epilepsy drugs, with the ingredient sodium valproate. The defects are varied but include spina bifida, cleft palate, and neuro-developmental disorders. The drugs including Epilim, used since 1978, and associated with Fetal Anticonvulsant Syndrome (FACS), and birth defects for almost as long as it has been available. The characteristic facial features are a thin upper lip, small crowded teeth and wide nasal bridge. Whilst the effect of sodium valproate is not the dramatic loss of limbs, as is the case with Thalidomide, the effects are life limiting and debilitating.

Epilim accounts for 80 percent of the reported cases of FACS in the UK and has affected 20,000 births – ten times the number of Thalidomide affected births. Dr Turnpenny, clinical geneticist at the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital said, "Epilim may affect about 560 babies every year. About ten percent of fetuses exposed to sodium valproate will have a major congenital malformation such as cleft palate. Twelve percent are likely to develop a neuro-developmental disorder." Consultant neurologist at BMI, The London Independent Hospital, Suzanne O'Sullivan said, "These days we avoid putting women of childbearing age on it (Epilim) as a first choice drug. Not all doctors are aware of the risk. There are other drugs that are safe to use during pregnancy."

When medication may be the only option, you must be well informed
A major convulsive seizure during pregnancy can cause injury to the mother and baby, and even lead to miscarriage. Some patients do need anti-convulsants, without which the chances of a successful full term pregnancy would be greatly reduced. However, the selection of a drug with such a high rate of debilitating effects is both dangerous and illogical when there are alternatives. Epilim may be the standard treatment by some doctors, simply because they are not aware of the alternatives, or because it is less expensive. It should also be considered as to how severe the patients epilepsy is before prescribing these drugs.

Ultimately it is the responsibility of the person taking drugs prescribed by a doctor, to do extensive research as to what they are putting into their body. If there is a possibility that a natural, holistic approach can be taken, then that should be the first choice. Thalidomide should never have been taken for morning sickness, as there are so many natural cures. However, in the case of moderate to severe epilepsy, drugs can be the only option, so it is important to be completely informed on all the effects of the drugs being taken. By being aware of the complete picture of what these drugs do, it is possible to ask for different treatments from a well informed standpoint.

Researchers Vindicate Omega-3s

by: John Phillip

(NaturalNews) Systemic inflammation is a primary factor in the development and progression of many chronic conditions ranging from heart disease and stroke to diabetes, dementia, and cancer. Most people have no idea that their risk of these conditions is dramatically increased, as disease-causing chemical messengers are continually released throughout the body as a result of low level inflammation. These messengers or cytokines can be life-saving in the case of a cut or burn, but when released as a result of poor diet and lifestyle activities, cause increased body temperature, hormone disruption, and disease.

Flax Oil

Scientists have been aware of the health-promoting benefits of omega-3 fatty acids since the 1950's, as they were well known to help clear skin eruptions such as psoriasis and eczema. For the past three decades, the long chain omega-3 fats EPA and DHA were believed to be effective in lowering the risk of cardiovascular disease and heart attack. For the first time, researchers from the University of California in San Diego have published conclusive evidence in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences to explain the precise mechanism exerted by omega-3 fats to lower inflammation and disease risk at the cellular level.

Omega-3 fats lower systemic inflammation to help prevent most chronic diseases
The lead study author, Dr. Edward Dennis noted "There have been tons of epidemiological studies linking health benefits to omega-3 oils, but not a lot of deep science… this is the first comprehensive study of what fish oils actually do inside a cell." His team set out to determine if they could manipulate the precise mechanism exerted by fish oil to limit inflammation at the cellular level, and disrupt the detrimental process before it begins, leading to a multitude of deadly chronic illnesses.

Researchers fed white blood cell macrophages (immune cells) with three types of fatty acids, long-chain omega-3 fats, eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA), docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) and the omega-6 fat, arachidonic acid (AA). At high levels of circulation, fatty acids are toxic, and cells sequester them into their membranes where they are used to provide structure and provide a permeable barrier for the flow of oxygen and nutrients. When we experience regular and constant stress, the fatty acids are released, producing the damaging effects of systemic inflammation.

Short term inflammation is essential for survival as it protects from bacterial and viral invasions, but threatens our health and life when it persists at a low level for months and years. The scientists found that omega-3 fats inhibit an enzyme called cyclooxygenase (COX), which produces the prostaglandin hormones that spark inflammation. Researchers also noted that the long-chain fats stimulate the production of lipoxygenases (LOX) that have an anti-inflammatory effect on cellular function to help prevent disease.

Dr. Dennis concluded "We've been able to look inside a cell, see what fish oils do and determine that the process of inflammation at this level may be manipulatable." Nutrition experts recommend eating fatty fish at least twice per week or supplementing with a distilled fish oil supplement (1200 to 2400 mg EPA/DHA per day) or from regular consumption of flax/chia seeds, walnuts and almonds to combat the deadly diseases of inflammation and extend natural lifespan.

Substituting Vitamins and Supplements for Pharmaceuticals in Type 2 Diabetes

(OMNS May 28, 2012) Just when you thought it was safe to go back into the drugstore, we are going to question authority yet again. Readers may remember Dr. Stuart Lindsey as the Frustrated Pharmacist (http://orthomolecular.org/resources/omns/v08n05.shtml). He's back and at it once more, this time presenting an important supplement-based approach to type 2 diabetes. This essay presents ideas that are very possibly a large part of the solution. As with all OMNS releases, it is not meant to substitute for medical advice. Persons should consult their own doctor before making any health decision. – Andrew W. Saul, Editor

The current treatment of diabetes is among the least successful in medicine, despite billions of dollars spent on research. Many scientists make a career of studying diabetes. Medicine has succeeded in making diabetes very expensive for the patient while making the disease a cash cow for the numerous businesses that cater to the diabetic. We should expect to see some improvement in diabetic treatment, but in fact the basic protocols haven't changed much in twenty years. Is research getting close to a solution? In my opinion as a practicing pharmacist, the answer is no.

For fifteen years I was the pharmacy manager for an independent neighborhood drug store. I saw the results of many people over the long term as they were introduced to the "sugar-med treadmill." After prolonged consumption of their diabetic medications, their health did not improve. This was disturbing to me. The long term diabetics all seemed to have the same group of symptoms: they were overweight (due to hyper-insulinemia), edematous (having swelling under the skin), and they all suffered from poor exercise tolerance and had a generally unhealthy appearance. Many of them had peripheral neuropathy (malfunction of nerves), often associated with pain in their hands and feet. Only rarely did they believe their diabetes treatment was actually improving their health.

My interest in the lack of results from standard treatment of diabetes came into sharp focus when pain in my feet led to my being diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. From my observations at work, I already knew that the drug treatments for peripheral neuropathy were questionable. Introducing amitriptyline, gabapentin and Lyrica, which are sedatives and pain killers, made the people sleep a lot. Medically, it's obvious that sedating nerves doesn't solve anything. When such patients step up to daily long term narcotics and finally get some pain relief, they still haven't solved their problems.

Current medical practice relies on the HgbA1c (glycated hemoglobin) level as a measure of blood sugar over several months. The glycated hemoglobin is caused by high levels of sugar binding to hemoglobin inside red blood cells. When it builds up, this means that the body's biochemicals and organs are being damaged by too much sugar. It was interesting to note how many of the diabetic patients were in the normal range (i.e. HgbA1c < 6.5) but were still in agony over their feet. The problem was that seeing a normal value of HgbA1c, the doctor would hesitate to change the treatment. Apparently, severe foot pain wasn't a symptom that needed attention.

I decided to explore the whole HgbA1c issue. The biggest argument you see in diabetes is that diabetes is a 'disposal' issue. A high level of blood sugar is a type of metabolic malfunction that needs to be corrected. Blood sugar has a geography problem. The body seems driven to urinate the sugars out of the body instead of jamming the sugars across supposedly malfunctioning membranes and burning the sugars intracellularly. Medical practice can apply insulin and many types of drugs to insure that the body's tissues metabolize the sugars. Most current diabetic research is targeted at 'breaching the barrier' and making the supposedly malfunctioning membranes more permeable to carbohydrates. When those extra sugar calories are crammed into cells you get advanced glycation end-products (AGE's) that are a threat to the body.

In 2005, a UK researcher named Paul Thornalley wrote a paper detailing how many diabetic symptoms are due to a deficiency of thiamine (B-1).[1] Elevated blood sugar promotes a type of toxicity in the kidneys that causes thiamine to be excreted by the kidney at a rate much higher (sixteen to twenty-five times higher) than normal, leading to an acute deficiency of thiamine. From other studies, it is known that deficiencies in all B vitamins, as well as vitamin C and D are common in diabetics.[2] This can cause most of the symptoms of type 2 diabetes, which include: polyneuropathy, nephropathy (kidney damage), retinopathy (eye damage) and eventually heart failure. This raises the question of whether the symptoms are from diabetes or acute beriberi?

When I was diagnosed with type II diabetes, I immediately balked at taking the standard diabetic drugs. My doctor wanted to place me on statins, metformin and Byetta, all of which I refused to take. Having researched Dr. Thornalley's theory of diabetes being an acute thiamine deficiency, I started a regimen of vitamin and mineral supplements. Although the pain in my feet was quite severe, I wanted to avoid the regular drug regimen because it relied upon taking lots of pain killers that don't cure the problem. I reasoned that when the body's B vitamin levels are depleted due to high blood sugar, replenishing body stores through diet alone is difficult, so supplementation will be necessary.

I started taking a dietary supplement of thiamine (benfotiamine, 250mg 4x/day). I also added of vitamin B-6 (250mg/day) and pyridoxal 5 phosphate (P5P, 100mg/day) magnesium (aspartate, citrate, malate, or chloride) and acetyl-l-carnitine (1000 mg/day) depending on the severity of my peripheral neuropathy symptoms. More recently I've learned of the importance of taking vitamin C to reduce inflammation and prevent oxidation from high blood sugar levels.[2] My doctor did not approve of my self-treatment but was curious. I told him that I was willing to go back to the standard of care if this didn't work.

"Positive factors for treating type 2 diabetes are magnesium, exercise, weight control, chromium, dietary fiber, the B-vitamins, vitamin E, vanadium, vitamin C, and complex carbohydrates. I have been using the positive factors for the past 40 years. When patients followed such a program, the results are very good." Abram Hoffer, MD, PhD [3]

The most overt of the neuropathy symptoms started to subside rapidly. Within a week, the shooting pains in my ankles were mostly gone. All of the other symptoms of numbness of the toes and overall pain of the feet including the "boot effect" (the feeling that you have your boots or socks on) were mostly gone in three weeks. Now I know this treatment may not be a cure for diabetes. But it is a valid and reasonably inexpensive way to control the symptoms, which are held at bay as long as you keep your thiamine levels high. If you quit taking thiamine and the other B vitamins, the symptoms come roaring back.

I looked for the inevitable deterioration of my health that had been predicted. Ignore your blood sugar levels at your peril I was told. I was going to have kidney problems, my pancreas would stop cooperating and my vision would become blurry as the elevated sugars damaged my retinas. But the only sign of an active problem was the neuropathies in my feet which were quite painful at times: numbness of my toe area and shooting pains in my foot joints. I also had the feeling that the circulation of my feet was poor as my feet were always cold.

After two years I finally got blood tests. I still felt very good having lost some weight, with no vision problems, and my energy level and psychological attitude were all fine.I was actually afraid to look at the results and finding out that I had finally outsmarted myself and got hurt. There is a quite a propaganda machine built around the treatment of diabetes. As I drove over to retrieve my blood tests I did a mental check of how I felt. I decided I couldn't have a lot wrong with me as I just felt too good. My blood tests were amazingly free of problems related to elevated blood sugar, and I had few other related discernible health defects. This thiamine treatment did not change my HgbA1c (which is currently 9.1, and that is high) or my resting blood sugars (fasting blood sugars still between 180-190, and those also are high). Values like these are supposed to indicate a poor quality of health. My recent blood tests indicated:

Creatinine, urine 86.7mg/dl. Scale 20-370; low normal.
Microalbumin/Creatinine ratio 9.2mg/GCr. Scale 0-30; low normal.

Creatinine and microalbumineria values are the so called "Canary in the Coal Mine" indicators. The kidneys are supposed to go first when Advanced Glycation Endproducts (AGEs) have started your march to health failure because you didn't keep your HgbA1c values within range. I think my two-plus years is long enough for this to play out. I had my eyes checked for sugar damage to my retinas. I have no sugar damage to my eyes whatsoever. I am 61 years old and have 20-25 vision in both eyes. Jonathan Wright, MD, is among those who have noted that skin tags may be connected to diabetes; interestingly enough the skin tags on my arms have all disappeared.

However, my health hasn't failed due to hyperglycemia, although it is still a problem. In my case, the unusual positive results are evidently due to my nutritional approach. I substituted supplements of several essential nutrients for pharmaceuticals and stayed in relatively good health. And I continue to try supplementing with other nutrients such as antioxidants which are known to help prevent diabetes. [2] This suggests that the health issues are actually caused by nutritional deficiencies that can be easily prevented.

I am hoping this simple (and non-toxic) experiment on myself will lead the field to discussing the validity of substituting vitamins in diabetes treatment. The treatment of diabetes as it now stands is complicated and expensive. I am spending about $130/month on supplements, and during this two year experiment I have not given my doctor a single dime for advice on how to regulate my HgbA1c value. I imagine I've saved more than twice that amount by avoiding paying for drugs and doctor visits. Is this justified? If my health remains good and I have no other serious problems, I believe it is.

If all diabetics would supplement with B vitamins and vitamins C, D, and E, and minerals such as calcium and magnesium, they would lessen their problems with insulin and blood sugar, and the other serious symptoms of diabetes.[2] The reason is that most people in our society, especially including diabetics, have deficiencies of these essential nutrients that are known to be related to diabetes. But this essay is also an attempt to unseat some basic tenets of the medical fiasco known as diabetes. The prevalence in 2011 of type II world-wide according to the World Health Organization (WHO) is 346 million, and some 3.4 million people dies in 2004 as a consequence of the disease. The WHO predicts that the deaths attributable to diabetes will double between 2005 and 2030. [4] With this kind of projection a "Manhattan Project" kind of response seems necessary.

So what is the intellectual problem that seems so intractable to the medical research community? The standard treatments to lower blood sugar and HgbA1c were recently tested in medical trials. The ACCORD trials were meant to validate once and for all that the closer a patient got to a HgbA1c level of 6% the healthier a person became. Instead there was 22% increase in mortality from heart failure.[5] This unexpected value caused the FDA to terminate the trial midstream. Is it possible that the HgbA1c value should not be a primary goal in evaluating diabetes treatments?

If you go to PubMed and enter the keywords "thiamine deficiency" and "diabetes" you will get dozens of references that describe how many symptoms of diabetes are caused by a thiamine deficiency it generates. Deficiencies of B vitamins and other essential nutrients are important in diabetes.[2] This should be required reading for all doctors who treat or research diabetes. Currently in conventional management of diabetes, supplement based nutrition therapy is utterly neglected. The National Diabetes Fact Sheet reported that in 2007, the direct medical costs of diabetes nationally was estimated at $116 billion (USD). [6]

Diabetic patients can feel overwhelmed by a diagnosis of hyperglycemia, but are often comforted by the complicated explanations and sudden increase in activity and attention directed at them. The possibility that they are being misled just doesn't come up. Even if patients decide to do their own research it can be confusing. The cause of diabetes is basically unknown, but they are told that with some major alterations to one's lifestyle and lots of drugs liberally applied they can lead a relatively normal life. However for the truly curious, a large block of mainstream nutrition ideas of which the doctors are mostly ignorant can be freely accessed on the internet. When a patient presents this alternative information to the doctor today, they are comforted and told that they are already getting the cutting edge treatment. But even three years after the revelations of the ACCORD trials there has been no major correction of the type II treatment protocols that addresses the unexplained mortality issues revealed by the trials.

Even if my vitamin arguments are only partially correct, the implications for mainstream medicine are staggering. These ideas need wide discussion the field, because patients with diabetes need some new ideas.

FDA Accused of Mass Homicide of 1 Million Americans Each Decade

by: Ethan A. Huff

(NaturalNews) The biggest threat to America today is not terrorists or global warming, but the mass genocide of Americans who die every year at the hands of the corrupt U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). In a recent report, investigative reporter Jon Rappoport uncovers the dirty truth that FDA-approved drugs kill at least 100,000 people every single year — the FDA actually lists this figure on its own website — and the agency is doing absolutely nothing about this disastrous trend.

On a webpage entitled Why Learn about Adverse Drug Reactions (ADR)?, the FDA admits that 100,000 people die every single year as a result of taking FDA-approved pharmaceutical drugs. Citing figures from three different published studies, the figures also reveal that two million people a year suffer from serious ADRs, which include things like stroke, heart attack, and permanent neurological damage.

You can view the FDA page for yourself here:
http://www.fda.gov

Since these figures come from studies dating back to at least 1998, it is clear that the FDA is fully aware of the extensive harm being caused by supposedly "safe" drugs. And since it has done nothing to address the problem, the agency is complicit in willfully harming and murdering tens of millions of Americans throughout just the past several decades, which makes it one of the most murderous government regimes in history.

Based on the figures presented by the FDA, at least 30 million people have suffered serious injury or death as a result of taking FDA-approved drugs just since 1998 when the first cited study was published. If you go back several more decades, it is clear that potentially hundreds of millions of people have been directly harmed by the FDA's "negligent homicide."

"It is time for these murderous government crimes to end," writes Rappoport in his report. "It is time for all responsible parties to be brought to justice, to real justice. It is time for the public to realize that 100,000 people dying every year in the U.S., because they take medical drugs, is the equivalent of 33 airliner crashes into the Twin Towers, every year, year after year."

Why the FDA and its drug lords are the real terrorists
Since the FDA is the official gatekeeper of pharmaceutical drugs, it is directly responsible for the harm they cause. And yet agency officials have never, in any meaningful way, been held responsible for their crimes against humanity. And the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), as Rappoport points out, has failed to step in and pursue those responsible for peddling poison as medicine.

If al-Qaeda operatives were caught dispensing toxic chemicals disguised as medicine to innocent civilians, they would be sent off to Guantanamo Bay without trial, and locked away indefinitely. But when the FDA does the very same thing on a much more massive scale, nobody bats an eye. And yet the number of people that the FDA has killed with its drugs is far more than the number killed during 9/11 or the Oklahoma City bombing.

The organized crime ring that is the federal government today is the real terrorist threat that we all face on a daily basis. And until the American people collectively wake up to this reality, we will continue to watch our friends, our families, and our children, which are the casualties of this ongoing terrorist attack, lay waste at the hands of Big Pharma and the FDA.

Radiation, The Other Toxin

by Capt. Randall

Few things strike fear into the hearts of men like the invisible terror of nuclear radiation. While the mention of a mushroom cloud sealed the sales pitch to invade Iraq a decade ago, today the subject of radiations whether from electromagnetic fields like cell phones, medical equipment, depleted uranium weaponry or Fukushima ( the elephant in the room ) has oddly been removed from mainstream conversation.  One would think public health bulletins and information covering preventive measures would appear? The silence is deafening.

Radiation Exposure Protocol

Various cancers are being associated with "safe" medical imaging devices. Shocking reports of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, suicides and cancers are common among returning Iraq War veterans, the selfsame symptoms one would expect from radiation poisoning… currently being "treated" with antidepressants and psychotherapy.  Independent sources reveal high levels of radioactive particles from failed Japanese reactors impacting the west coast of The United States. There seems to be a growing awareness of these threats… and a subdued panic, but little evidence of personal protection know-how. When people feel helpless they get scared. Don't get scared… get informed and take steps to minimize the damage to your cells…. obviously no one else will.

Radioactive particles, ionizing radiation and Electro-Magnetic Fields all have the common affect of displacing electrons and breaking molecular bonds. Basically, electrons are bumped out of orbit from a molecule turning it into a positively charged electron-hungry "free radical" or electron-rich bonds between molecules come under attack resulting in the destruction of DNA, fatty membranes and other cell structures…. garden variety OXIDATION!

So depending on the energy levels, exposure and type of radiation, molecules are damaged and torn apart which translates into ruptured red cells, decreased oxygen delivery, impairment of the nervous system, opportunistic infections and developing cancers. Higher up the scale, victims suffer burns or are scorched to cinders. Even radiations at their lowest levels generate free radicals and begin to shift the electrical charge terrain of the body which will eventually result in disease.

We are struck constantly by background cosmic radiation, telecommunication waves, EMFs from electrical appliances and the all familiar photons and radiant heat that are sunshine and easily overcome them.  To help unravel the puzzle, fish, birds and animals seem to be more or less immune to radiation as evidenced by thriving wildlife around the abandoned reactor at Chernobyl. So how can animals survive where humans quickly exceed dangerous levels of exposure?….Animals can produce Vitamin C in massive quantities on demand! Flooding the system with antioxidant electrons sponges-up free radicals and protects remaining structures from …oxidation.

Since one can be irradiated or actually ingest radioactive elements like uranium, iodine, cesium, or strontium, two slightly different approaches are needed. High antioxidant intake (like Vitamin C in multi-gram not milligram quantities ) limits the damage from waves of energy or charged particles passing through the body.   Radiation emitting elements lodged in lungs or glands are exponentially more dangerous and require the addition of chelators like clays, chlorella and zeolites to help remove them.

Iodine supplementation pre-loads the thyroid so that radioactive iodine is refused when encountered. Zinc, selenium and sulfur help displace unwanted glowing elements. Potassium, magnesium and bicarbonate act as pH buffers and facilitate oxygen penetration so cells can maintain energy production. Plant based antioxidants like curcumin, astragalus, astaxanthin and resveratrol absorb oxygen radicals so are protective. Bee propolis, manufactured by honey bees from tree sap resins and many essential oils and extracts can be added. While antioxidant supplements have great ORAC strength, don't overlook larger quantities of less powerful food sources in fruits, berries and vegetables. It's an aggregate total of electrons and electron storing substances that is required to offset the sum of the oxidative insults. Think QUANTITY!

Reviewing past articles  ( "Healer's Grail", "Healer's Compass", "Healer's Toolbox" and "Toxic?" )  should make apparent the fact that oxidation causes the dissociation of all molecular constructs and is at the root of disease. The affects of radiations are little different from those of acids, oxygen, toxins and various other electron hungry oxidants and free radicals. Life persists because it resists oxidation and maintains its appearance for a time with electron abundance, overwhelming energy.

Added Sugar Is The Number One Culprit In The American Health Crisis

by: Linn Cole

(NaturalNews) Cancer. Heart disease. High blood pressure. Obesity. Diabetes. Premature aging. What we take for granted as hallmarks of life in the most affluent country on Earth have been popularly linked to everything from genetics to fast food. What if the real answer is so straightforward it's as near at hand as the closest bottle of Coke? Mounting research pinpoints both cane sugar and high-fructose corn syrup (HFCS) as definitive agents in all of the "epidemics" this generation has become painfully familiar with.

Chromium GTF

Insulin resistance, heart disease and diabetes
The link between sugar consumption and diabetes is common knowledge: the pancreas secretes insulin to lower blood sugar after eating, and simple sugars like cane sugar and HFCS cause blood sugar to skyrocket, requiring the pancreas to pump out more insulin. If the pancreas becomes exhausted from dealing with chronically high sugar consumption, blood sugar can spiral to dangerous levels – this is diabetes.

Less familiar is the condition of insulin resistance, where cells become less responsive to the action of insulin, requiring the pancreas to continually amp up the amount of insulin it produces. This may or may not trigger diabetes, but regardless, the end result is the liver's conversion of these sugars into a saturated fatty acid known as palmitate. Palmitate raises LDL cholesterol (the bad kind), leading to heart disease. Experts say that metabolic syndrome is now the most prominent factor in heart attacks.

Insulin resistance, also known as metabolic syndrome, is thought to be present in 75 million Americans, and is usually connected to the accumulation of fat around the gut. Amazingly, insulin resistance can be induced in test animals in as little a week if they're given diets with 60 or 70 percent of calories from sugar. Fortunately, when their diets were de-sweetened, the insulin resistance likewise disappeared.

Sugar's role in feeding cancer
As the World Health Organization concluded in 2004, people who are obese, diabetic or have metabolic syndrome are all at a higher risk of developing cancer than those who aren't. The problem is metabolic syndrome itself; researchers believe a large percentage of cancers – up to 80 – are fueled by the effect of insulin on the cancer cells, and the chronically high insulin levels of those with metabolic syndrome means more fuel for the fire. In fact, tumors usually develop mutations to more effectively use insulin for growth. This is especially true for breast and colon cancer.

Sugar and premature aging
Finally, one of sugar's least well-known crimes is its central role in skin aging. In short, if a person consumes excess sugar, those sugars will attach to proteins in the blood stream, creating what are known as advanced glycation end products, or AGEs. AGEs damage adjacent proteins, and collagen happens to be the most available protein in the body. Effected collagen becomes dry and brittle rather than supple and springy, and wrinkled, sagging skin is the result. The more sugar consumed, the faster skin aging occurs.

The Verdict
With such a daunting rap sheet, it's no wonder that some researchers studying the effects of cane sugar and HFCS are spooked off these substances altogether. The question is no longer how much sucrose or fructose in the diet is healthy, but whether added sugar should be consumed at all. Robert Lustig, an expert in childhood obesity, doesn't hesitate to label sugar as "toxic" and "evil." Rather than having sugar evoke fond memories of lemonade and apple pie, we would all be better off to do the same.

Obama’s Secret Dealings With Big Pharma During Health Care Overhaul

by: Ethan A. Huff

(NaturalNews) The bipartisan Congressional committee currently investigating the secret dealings between the Obama administration and Big Pharma prior to the passage of the massive health care overhaul is set to release pertinent new details as to what these dealings entailed. In a recent memorandum, the committee unveils the names of some of the key figures involved with these secret negotiations, and promises to release even more shocking details in the coming weeks.

Addressed specifically to the Republican members of the Energy and Commerce Committee, the memo explains a little bit more about how the Pharmaceutical Manufacturers of America (PhRMA), a powerful lobbying group that represents the drug and biotechnology industries, colluded with the federal government to make the terms of Obamacare as favorable to drug companies as possible. Both the federal government and PhRMA secretly agreed to abide by certain undisclosed commitments to one another as part of the passage of the bill, the details of which largely remain hidden from public view.

"In the coming weeks the Committee intends to show what the White House agreed to do as part of its deal with the pharmaceutical industry and how the full details of this agreement were kept from both the public and the House of Representatives," wrote members of the House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations in their memo.

"The investigation has determined that the White House, primarily through Office of Health Reform Director Nancy Ann DeParle and (Jim) Messina, with involvement from Chief of Staff Rahm Emmanuel, was actively engaged in these negotiations while the role of Congress was limited."

A private email sent by Jim Messina, for instance, then Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations to the White House, to a PhRMA lobbyist back on January 15, 2010, exposed the fact that the White House had made a secret "deal" with this group. In Messina's own words, PhRMA had apparently done something that "wasn't part of our deal," which had upset the White House at the time.

While many people are aware of the fact that dealings were, in fact, made between the drug industry and the government over the terms of Obamacare, it is widely assumed that the U.S. Senate forged a final agreement — this is, of course, what Obama had claimed at the time. But these new revelations expose the fact that key White House figures were actively involved in placating the demands of Big Pharma, albeit behind the scenes, while crafting the bill.

Former OHR Director Nancy Ann DeParle admitted in another uncovered email that the White House had deliberately excluded the House of Representatives in the negotiation process. And many members of Congress, as we now know, admittedly did not even know what was in the final 2,700-page bill because they did not get a chance to read it before it was quickly rushed through and passed (http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0312/74601.html).

Do Blueberries Hold The Key To Defeating Cancer?

by Margie King, Health Coach

It’s hard to believe but, not that many years ago, nutrition experts were telling people to save their calories and skip the blueberries because they had no nutritional value.

Immune Booster Protocol

Fast forward a few decades and blueberries are now widely revered as a superfood.  In fact, investigators at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, studying the link between disease and nutrition, believe that eating just one cup of blueberries every day prevents cell damage linked to cancer

Uniquely American, blueberries are native to North America and are rarely found in Europe. They grow naturally in the woods and mountainous regions of the United States and Canada.

Blueberries are full of antioxidants and flavonoids that help prevent cell damage.  Antioxidants work by neutralizing free radicals, atoms that contain an odd number of electrons and are highly unstable.  Free radicals can cause the type of cellular damage that is a big factor in cancer development.

Blueberries are rich in one particular type of flavonoid called anthocyanins.  These compounds are water soluble pigments that are red, violet or blue depending on their pH level.  Apples and blueberries both get their beautiful colors from anthocyanins.

In plants, anthocyanins act as antioxidants and protect the plant from oxidative damage.  In cells, they perform a similar function.

According to Laura Newton M.A.Ed., R.D., an associate professor in the Department of Nutrition Sciences at the UAB and a licensed dietician who often works with cancer patients, many studies suggest that antioxidants like anthocyanins may help prevent the free-radical damage associated with cancer.

But blueberries do even more.  They are also rich in vitamin C, which supports the immune system and can help the body to absorb iron.  An important consideration for cancer patients is that "vitamin C also helps to keep blood vessels firm, offering protection from bruising," Newton says.

Blueberries have such a reputation for health and healing that food companies are adding blueberries to lots of packaged products as an advertising hook.  But don’t be fooled by products with fake blueberries.

As with any fruit, blueberry juice and other processed products may contain some nutritional value but are often missing the soluble and insoluble fiber that blueberries provide.  They may also have added sugars or high fructose corn syrup, which actually feeds cancer and defeats the health benefits of the fruit.

Fresh, raw blueberries provide the most health benefits.  An average serving size of raw blueberries is one cup and contains about 80 calories.
