Discover Silica’s Anti-Aging and Heavy Metal Detox Properties

by: Paul Fassa

(NaturalNews) The mineral silica (Si) is getting more notice for its important functions. Sometimes called the “beauty mineral” because it improves skin elasticity and hair and nail growth, a few other more important aspects have been explored lately.

D. Earth
Detox Protocol

Silica helps ensure collagen elasticity of all connecting tissues in the body, including tendons and cartilage. This reduces aches and pains and maintains your body’s flexibility. It has also been determined lately that high levels of blood serum silica keep arterial plaque from building and clogging blood vessels. The main culprit for that plaque has recently shifted from cholesterol buildup to calcification from calcium in the blood that is not absorbed as bone matter. It has been known that silica is an important part of building bone matter. Without it, calcium goes elsewhere to potentially calcify in the soft tissue of inner artery walls and the heart.

Silica is vital for keeping strong bones and a healthy cardiovascular system.
This qualifies silica as an essential anti-aging mineral that is much more than skin deep.

Silica for detoxing heavy metals – especially aluminum
Even PubMed acknowledges silicic acid as an antidote for aluminum poisoning and silica as a detox agent for heavy metals. Both brain tissue calcification and aluminum toxicity are linked to Alzheimer’s disease.

Now it’s been discovered that silica can be supplemented to help prevent yet another aspect of aging – dementia. Obviously it can also be used as an adjunct with any other Alzheimer’s treatment, such as pure cold pressed coconut oil (http://www.naturalnews.com/030919_coconut_oil_Alzheimers.html).

Aluminum (Al) is passed out through the urine when one supplements silica. It seems there’s little danger of taking too much, as long as adequate water is consumed and vitamin B1 and potassium levels are maintained.

There is no shortage of aluminum toxicity in our environment. It’s in cookware, beverage containers, foil, second hand cigarette smoke, cosmetics, sunscreen, chemtrails, and more. For sure, it is in all vaccines. Injecting aluminum bypasses the normal route of eliminating it.

Aluminum accumulates in tissue that doesn’t have a rapid cellular turnover. The slow turnover tissues are contained in bone matter, the heart and the brain. The brain and its associated nervous system is where diseases such as Parkinson’s, MS, chronic fatigue and other neurological or auto-immune diseases manifest.

Dr. Chris Exley, PhD, has dedicated almost two decades of his scientific life to researching aluminum toxicity. He calls the period of time from the early 20th Century to now the “Age of Aluminum.” Before then, aluminum remained in the ground and hadn’t yet been mined. Exley claims mining aluminum and using it in so many ways corresponds to the marked increase of neurological diseases.

He recommended a couple of pricey mineral waters high in silica that better health food stores carry (Video source below, Exley lecture). He claimed positive results occurred with vaccine injured children drinking these waters, but there are other good less pricey silica sources as well.

Silica sources
Horsetail is an excellent and inexpensive herbal source of silica. Horsetail has been around for centuries, and mostly forgotten until recent research attention uncovered more attributes. Until then, horsetail was used mostly as a diuretic or treatment for kidney stones.

Anything for which silica is useful will benefit from horsetail. And there are supplements that are formulated for silica intake that you may want to look into. Foods that help keep your silica levels high are: Unrefined whole grains such as rye, barley, oats, and wheat. Alfalfa sprouts nuts, and other seeds will boost your silica levels.

What Big Pharma Doesn’t Want You To Know About Bromelain

by: Paul Fassa

(NaturalNews) Bromelain is an inexpensive enzyme supplement with many uses and health benefits. Enzymes don’t get much respect, yet they are considered more important functionally than vitamins and minerals. Without enzymes, food cannot be broken down into its constituent nutrients, and enzymes are needed for most cellular metabolic actions.

Bromelain, not to be confused with pharmaceutical bromaline, is a proteolytic enzyme or protease found most abundantly in pineapple cores. Protease or proteolytic enzymes are needed to digest complete proteins found in meat.Cooking meat destroys most of the enzymes needed to break down meat’s complete proteins into amino acids that the body can use.

This puts a strain on the pancreas to create more proteolytic enzymes for the small intestines to break down the meat proteins. That strain can potentially lead to pancreatic cancer. But what’s more likely, the diversion of breaking down meat proteins takes away some other functions protease enzymes perform to keep or get you healthy.

Bromelain helps treat many modern maladies and cancer
Bromelain proteolytic enzyme supplements grant many health benefits beyond digesting whole proteins. Complete proteins are hard to digest. That’s why only proteolytic enzymes work – they’re tough enough to crack those proteins open. And if they’re tough enough for that, they can help in other areas.

Bromelain protease can dissolve internal scar tissue created from inflammation. Besides calming the inflamed area, this also takes away hiding places for pathogens to lodge. Scar tissue that hangs around is like a breeding shelter that invites disease for long term visits.

Bromelain speeds up recovery from injuries and surgeries. It has been clinically tested to prove that it enhances surgical recovery. Some naturopaths recommend it be taken before and after any surgical procedure, including dental.

Since cancer cells are protected from the immune system’s white “killer” cells by a protein wall, any cancer treatment can be augmented by adding bromelain supplements. Dr. Nicholas Gonzalez uses his own type of proteolytic enzymes with his version of William Donald Kelley’s successful innovations for curing cancer with enzymes (http://www.naturalnews.com/030050_dentist_cancer.html).

The enzymes used by Kelley and Gonzalez are super premium, used in great quantities, and expensive. They are the main thrust, a sort of natural chemo, for serious cancer cases. But bromelain protease supplements are very cheap, and can be used as a supportive adjunct with any other cancer treatment.

Another role bromelain plays with its tough proteolytic enzymes is busting up clots beginning to form among blood platelets. This is good news for anyone dealing with cardiovascular problems. These are all functions one can expect from a tough protease enzyme.

But wait, there’s more! Some research indicates bromelain is anti-viral and anti-bacterial. It can be used help heal bronchitis and pneumonia. German research has shown that bromelain oral supplements enhance the immune system. Other research indicates that cytokine hormones manufactured in white blood cells are boosted by bromelain as well.

Using bromelain
Therapeutic bromelain doses range from 300 to 1500 mgs per day. One source recommends not exceeding 3000 mgs in one day. Dr. Richard Cohen recommends taking bromelain away from meals if it’s being used therapeutically. This frees up the enzymes from digesting foods to performing other healthy functions.

Eating Healthy On A Budget

by: Paul Fassa

(NaturalNews) Not everyone is able or ready to grow their own food yet. With food prices rising and the dollar shrinking, it’s a good idea to know what to buy and where. The first thing to realize is eating solely for taste and eating out often are the wrong approaches.

Liquid Life Complete
IntraMax

Allocating serious shopping time for some trial and error to determine where you get your best deals is necessary. If you have more than one health food store available, learn which ones offer better deals on specific items.

Cooperatives or co-ops usually charge an annual membership fee to get the better deals. You’ll have to decide if it’s worth it. You may be surprised that sometimes the pricier stores will have better deals on some items than the less expensive stores.

If you think you cannot spend the money for quality, organic foods, add up all your eating out expenses and the chips and dips and other processed yummy food and snack expenditures. Processed foods have unhealthy additives that make you eat more. That can add up to an expensive addiction.

A few suggestions
Breads: Try to find a local bakery that makes fresh, organic bread without bleached white flour or bromides (bromine). Both of those are unhealthy. Organic sourdough and sprouted grain breads are the healthiest. If possible, invest in a bread making machine and make your own from items ordered online or from local bulk bins.(1)

Grains and legumes: Also known as rice and beans. Organic rice and beans from bulk bins are healthy and cheap. Healthy oils, lemons, and spices can give you a variety of flavors. Avoid canned beans even if they’re in non-BPA cans.(2)

The bulk dried beans should be soaked overnight for boiling the next day. Organic lentils are inexpensive and healthy, but they don’t require any soaking time. Most other beans, like black or turtle beans and garbanzo or chick peas do need soaking.

Some anti-grain health foodies insist that grains should be soaked overnight to remove some of the nutrition-blocking phytic acid or phytates. Soaking steel cut oats overnight makes morning cereal preparation quick and easy as well as healthier. After the overnight soak, bring the oats to a boil, shut off the heat, cover with a lid and wait around 15 to 20 minutes.

Produce: This is the trickiest for budgeting when it comes to fresh organic produce. It requires serious shopping and coupon/flyer special scavenging. It’s best to lightly steam or eat the veggies raw. A salad a day with dark greens and carrot slices is a good way to eat veggies. So is juicing. (3)

If you can’t find organic produce to fit your budget, at least avoid the “dirty dozen” and shop for the “clean fifteen” both listed here: http://www.ewg.org/foodnews/summary/.

Soups: Do not choose the MSG laden instant soups or convenient canned soups. Slow cook soups the old fashioned way with veggies and potatoes. Make enough to refrigerate for a few days.

Another way to boost nutrients for grains and legumes while granting variety is by sprouting. Sprouting broccoli seeds gives you a super food. Many other seeds and legumes can be sprouted.(4)

Discover The Health Benefits of Juicing Carrots

by: Paul Fassa

(NaturalNews) Juicing is the fast track to good health. Using organic vegetables for juicing allows you to take in more vegetables at one time than you would by eating raw or cooked vegetables. The concentrated vegetable mass in liquid form is easily assimilated, thus making juicing daily ideal for health problems.

IntraMax

The body is more able to metabolize nutrients into the body’s cells, especially since uncooked vegetables retain their enzymes. Raw vegetables provide all the enzymes you need for optimum assimilation. But it’s important to use a slow speed masticating juicer. They don’t overheat the veggies to destroy any enzymes while juicing veggies. And they’re often less expensive and easier to clean than high speed commercial juicers.

One thing is noticeable among those who juice regularly. Carrots are usually a staple. You can add apples, greens or beets. But carrots aren’t as perishable as greens, store well with less space, and offer more juice with less expense.

Carrots are great as a base for juicing whatever else you want to include in your fresh vegetable juice. More importantly, carrots are amazingly nutritious and healing by themselves.

Carrots’ nutritional and healing benefits
The two obvious nutrients most are aware of are vitamin A and beta carotenes. Vitamin A toxicity is possible with vitamin supplements and fish oils, but you cannot overdose on vitamin A with carrots while enjoying their extra large amounts of this vitamin.

Beta-carotene is also a major antioxidant. The vitamin A and beta-carotene help maintain vision along with the carrots’ fair share of lutein. Beta-carotene also maintains epithelial tissue, the tissue surrounding internal organs. Epithelial tissues are susceptible to cancerous growths.

Carrots are also rich in poly-acetylene anti-oxidant falcarinol. Research at the University of Newcastle has shown carrot falcarinol destroys pre-cancerous cells in tumors. Carrots do help keep cancer away.

Carrots are deep soil root vegetables, and this enables them to absorb an abundant array of minerals. They are also rich in other vitamins, including the B vitamins and folates. Folate is the natural and safe provider of folic acid.

The list of nutrients doesn’t really measure up to carrots’ actual regenerative capacity, especially when juiced. Obviously, the unique synergy of its enzymes, vitamins, minerals, and flavonoids provides herbal healers with a magical remedy when juiced.

Drinking carrot juice
Drinking carrot juice cleanses and restores the liver. The liver is our body’s master cleanser – without which we would die from internal toxic buildups while detoxing all those external toxic sources we’ve taken in. Carrot juice has been called the golden juice of healing.

Dr. John Christopher, the father of modern American herbalism, has expressed amazement of carrot juice’s healing qualities. The Gerson Therapy, carried on today by Dr. Max Gerson’s daughter and grandson, relies heavily on fresh carrot combined with apple juices. The Gerson Therapy successfully treats cancer patients who have been given up on.

Dr. Max Gerson developed his dietary and detoxification approach to treat many diseases in addition to cancer. For critical illnesses, it’s best to juice several carrots with a few apples often while fasting from solid foods for awhile.

The Gerson Therapy does this while detoxing with daily coffee enemas. You can read about coffee enemas here (http://www.naturalnews.com/026289_c…).

So get a big bunch of carrots. They store well in your refrigerator or cool cellar. Then juice them with some apples, celery, or beets using a slow speed masticating juicer. Don’t store the juice. Drink each freshly juiced batch immediately as often as your health needs require.

Sunshine Helps Prevent Skin Cancer While Sunscreens Promote It

by: Paul Fassa

(NaturalNews) There are three types of skin cancer – of which melanoma is the most dangerous and potentially lethal because it can metastasize into other body parts. The other two non-melanoma types, squamous cell carcinoma and basal cell carcinoma, are treatable and not as threatening or able to metastasize as melanoma.

Immune Booster Protocol

Most skin cancer cases are of the basal cell carcinoma type, which can destroy surrounding tissue and disfigure facial skin areas if unchecked. It is advisable to check with a dermatologist if you have any unusual new moles or sores that won’t heal anywhere on your skin. Skin biopsies are easy to perform.Mainstream medicine blames the sun for all three types, and recommends sun screen lotions to block sun exposure. But one should take their sloppy science of prevention with several grains of salt.

Just about any dermatologist still holds to the myth that you need to avoid direct sunlight or lather your body with sunscreen to avoid skin cancer. Recently, the opposite has been determined to be true in both cases.

Sloppy science that harms more than helps

There are two basic types of ultra-violet (UV) rays from the sun that affect us: UVA and UVB. Ultra-violet A (UVA) rays have little or no benefit, and can cause some skin damage that initially shows as sunburn and eventually dries and ages the skin. UVA rays are steady throughout the day. Most sunscreens do not block harmful UVA rays. But most of them contain toxic and carcinogenic ingredients.

Natural lotions and many European sunscreens are more beneficial and less toxic. This requires some serious label reading. Simply using coconut oil, sunflower oil, jojoba (hoHOba) oil, eucalyptus oil, or shea butter is easier for preventing sun burn if you’re concerned.

Glass windows and windshields do not filter out UVA rays. But they do manage to block UVB rays. UVB rays are involved with the beginning of a body’s vitamin D3 production. And UVB rays peak during mid-day and are strongest during summers and nearer the equator. They are not the same throughout the day as UVA rays are.

So the sloppy science says you must deprive yourself of sun bestowing vitamin D3 that helps to prevent cancer and boost the immune system while slathering your body with carcinogenic sunscreens that don’t even block UVA rays. Makes no sense, does it?

Actually, those two medical suggestions have probably caused more skin cancer. Over the past few decades, skin cancer cases, especially melanoma, have risen dramatically. And it was a few decades ago that the sun-skin cancer links were made. This made selling sun screen lotions easy with no research on their harmful ingredients or inability to deflect UVA rays. That’s not unusual for FDA approvals.

It’s wise to pull out of the sun if your fair skin gets pink to avoid sunburn. As you tan, your sun exposure endurance increases. And don’t worry about vitamin D3 toxicity from sunlight. It’s almost impossible. As your D3 blood level increases, the body simply produces less regardless of the sun exposure time.

There are many overly tanned skinned retirees (who golf often and play lots of tennis), who can attest to their sun soaked boundless energy and good health.

Many consider 8,000 to 10,000 iu (international unit) dosages safe for almost everyone, though it’s wise to test D3 blood serum levels. Sometimes more is used under short term dire conditions, up to 50,000 ius, without toxicity.

Natural Remedies Help Eczema Sufferers (Opinion)

by: Fleur Hupston

(NaturalNews) Eczema is a chronic skin condition also known as atopic eczema. It is a common problem among children and babies, but it can also affect adults. Contrary to popular belief, keeping a dog may actually be a natural remedy for childhood eczema. Essential oils can also help to combat this skin condition.

Eczema is characterized by itchy bumps or skin rashes that may weep and crust over. Other symptoms include thick, scaly skin, which may crack when the weather is cold. In children, eczema often occurs on the face, head, neck and limbs and may become worse when commonly used soaps, shampoos and other personal care products are used on the skin. This is because these products often contain synthetic chemicals, which can irritate the sensitive skin of sufferers.Parents of children with eczema are often told to keep their children away from dogs and other animals. However, according to Dr. Tolly Epstein, an allergist and author of a study on children with eczema, household pets can affect the chances that a baby will develop eczema. In her study, published in the Journal of Pediatrics, dogs may actually prevent eczema in kids with allergies. It would seem that dogs may have the effect of stimulating and supporting the immune systems of children.Children allergic to dogs were less likely to develop eczema by age four if they lived with a dog before the age of one, compared to children who lived in a pet-free home. The same is not true when it comes to cats, however. Kids with cat allergies were thirteen times more likely to develop eczema by the age of four if living in a home with cats in the first year of life.

Essential oils can help eczema sufferers

Medical drugs that can be used topically for eczema abound on the market. Many of these come with harmful side effects and, in many cases, are only partially effective. Essential oils can help eczema sufferers because they gently moisturize the skin and can improve the immune system. Use only the best, therapeutic grade essential oils that are not adulterated with synthetic chemicals. Dilute with a carrier oil such as olive oil or jojoba oil first.

The best oils to use in treating eczema include chamomile, rose, tea tree oil, juniper, rosemary, lavender and patchouli.

It is recommended that eczema sufferers visit a naturopathic practitioner or homeopath for a full evaluation before administering any treatment at home.

Natural Health: Feeling Well With Candida Involves Diet Change

By Catherine Stack Niagara GazetteNIAGARA FALLS — A significant number of people suffer from systemic Candida or, more commonly, yeast.  Candida has a chameleon-like ability to change from non-invasive, sugar-fermenting yeast to a fungal form that has long root-like structures that can penetrate the intestinal mucosa.

This condition is commonly referred to as leaky gut syndrome, which is responsible for releasing toxins into the blood stream.  This in turn leads to a wide range of problems from bloating, constipation and gas, to food sensitivities and allergies.  Slow wound healing is also common with Candida overgrowth. When people take antibiotics to cure infection or illness they fail to recognize that the good, health-protecting bacteria are also destroyed, leaving yeast (Candida) to flourish and take over.  It is the beneficial bacteria that keeps Candida at bay in a healthy body.  The over use of antibiotics is partially responsible for the large numbers of people who suffer from systemic Candida. Even antibiotic residues in commercial meat contribute to setting the stage for overgrowth. Other common medications that contribute to yeast overgrowth are birth control pills and steroids.

Many physicians are not familiar treating Candida overgrowth as the symptoms can present non-specific and vague.  In women, the diagnosis of yeast infection is simple to make and treat.  But for those who suffer from an occasional vaginal yeast infection, are likely loaded and should consider systemic treatment. The problem with using with topical and oral preparations such as Monistat and Diflucan is that it will potentially lead to resistant Candida issues.  These medications work well initially but because the underlying cause is rarely addressed, results are usually temporary and overgrowth will most likely strike again. If diet and supplementation are not addressed the medicinal action is only likely to suppress, not eradicate the problem.

Sugar, which is Candida’s favorite food, along with a diet full of refined carbohydrates (breads, crackers, etc), makes the battle almost impossible to win.  A strict Candida diet must be followed for at least 1 month or more.  This diet eliminates most dairy, all sugar, most fruits, alcohol and bread products.  This leaves you with what nature intended you to eat anyway.  Fish, vegetables, meat, lots of pure water, herbal teas (especially Pau d’Arco) and some whole grains such as quinoa would make you feel great in a very short period of time. Emphasis should be placed on foods known to have anti-fungal properties such as garlic, onions, broccoli, cabbage, kale, collards, Brussels sprouts, olive and flax oils, cinnamon and cloves.

The downside of getting rid of systemic yeast is usually short lived, but the symptoms can feel almost flu-like for a few days.  The sugar cravings will be pretty intense as well — the yeast want to be fed.

Diet modifications, as discussed above, are going to make or break your success when it comes to eradicating yeast. Nutritional supplements such as probiotic’s, colloidal silver, Vitamin C, herbal or homeopathic combination formulas are extremely helpful when it comes to killing yeast.  Alternative therapies such as colon hydrotherapy and FIR Infrared heat therapy will help to remove yeast die-off quicker than your body will do it on its own.

One of the most important things you can do to prevent systemic yeast overgrowth is to supplement with probiotics on a regular basis but especially when finishing a course of antibiotics.  So if you suffer from bloating, sugar cravings, sensitivity to smells, bad breath or body odor, joint pain or hard to diagnose skin rashes, be very suspicious of a yeast invasion.

Japanese Sweet Potato May Cure Diabetes

by: Melanie Grimes

(NaturalNews) A white sweet potato extract from the Ipomoea batatas plant may cure diabetes, adding to other recent research showing blood sugar reducing benefits from coffee, the gingko tree, and nuts. Diabetes is at epidemic proportions but traditional medicine has used plants to treat this condition worldwide.

Sweet Potato Diabetes Research
Researchers are now studying the Ipomoea batatas plant, a traditional sweet potato remedy from the mountains of Japan. The white sweet potato has been used for centuries in Japan to treat high blood pressure, anemia and diabetes. The raw potatoes come from the Kagawa region of Japan, a mountainous region between Osaka and Hiroshima.

Recent research with the sweet potato extract has shown promise in stabilizing blood sugar in type 2 diabetes. A study in Austria and Italy enlisted 60 participants who consumed 4 g of an extract of the white sweet potato, called caiapo. After three months, many reported reduced blood sugar of 15 points.

When participants consumed 2 grams of the extract, their results were not curative, but those on the 4 gram a day diet showed at least a 13 percent reduction in fasting blood sugar, as well as a 30 percent drop in cholesterol and a 13 percent drop in LDL cholesterol.

The caiapo extract seems to have an effect by decreasing insulin resistance; however, further tests are needed to confirm these findings. Sweet potatoes join the ranks of other foods thought to help reduce insulin resistance and prevent the onset of diabetes, such as coffee and nuts.

Coffee Reduces Risk of Diabetes
The coffee research showed that one cup of coffee reduced diabetes risk by seven percent. These findings, published in the Archives of Internal Medicine, collected data from numerous studies that totaled over a half million participants.

Nuts Lower Blood Sugar
Nuts have been shown to lower blood sugar by slowing the digestion of carbohydrates, according to the American Diabetes Association. Nuts also contain important nutrients such as magnesium, as well as fiber and omega-3 fatty acids, which also benefit a diabetic diet.

Ginkgo Biloba Herb Treats Diabetes
The herb Ginkgo biloba has long been used in Japan and China as a treatment for high blood sugar. The tree is one of the oldest known in the world and contains a powerful antioxidant. A ginkgo tree withstood the nuclear blast in Hiroshima during World War Two. Ginkgo has been used to treat diabetic retinopathy because it helps increase blood flow to the eyes and also the limbs.

Natural Remedies Get Rid of Wrinkles

by: John Dill

(NaturalNews) Wrinkles are among the most visible signs of aging. Wrinkles form as a result of a gradual decrease in the skin’s collagen and elastin levels, which cause the skin to lose its natural elasticity and resilience. The skin also loses fat and becomes thinner, causing the skin to sag and form wrinkles as it loses support. While we cannot completely prevent wrinkles from forming, there are a number of ways to naturally minimize their appearance and prevent them from forming prematurely. This includes natural materials that you may already have at home, such as honey, avocado, vitamin E and Egg white.

Honey
Honey is an age-old beauty aid that has been valued for its anti-wrinkle properties since the days of the ancient Egyptians. Thanks to its potent, humectant properties, honey attracts and retains moisture, hydrating the skin and keeping it softer, suppler and less prone to wrinkles.Apply pure, organic honey to the skin and leave it on for at least 15 minutes. Rinse off the honey with lukewarm water and pat your skin dry gently. Avocado
Avocado is rich in naturally nourishing proteins and vitamins A, B and E, which are natural antioxidants that help repair and prevent free radical damage that causes wrinkles. Incorporate an avocado mask as part of your daily beauty regimen to help diminish the appearance of wrinkles and prevent more from forming.

Mash 1/4 of a ripe avocado into a creamy paste and smooth this over the face and neck. Leave the mask on for 20 minutes and then rinse it off with warm water.

Vitamin E
Vitamin E is a powerful antioxidant that helps to neutralize the damaging effects of free radicals on the skin. Free radicals are biologically-destructive chemical agents that attack healthy skin cell tissue and cause collagen deterioration, a direct cause of wrinkle formation. According to the University of Maryland Medical Center (UMMC), studies indicate that when it is applied topically, vitamin E reduces wrinkle depth and the length of facial lines.

To apply vitamin E, use a needle or pin to poke a hole in three vitamin E capsules. Squeeze the contents of each capsule into a bowl. Add one teaspoon of olive oil to make it easier to apply. Gently dab the oil mixture directly onto your skin.

Egg White
Egg white is another widely-used home remedy that diminishes the appearance of wrinkles naturally. When applied to the skin, egg white tightens the pores and temporarily lifts the skin, smoothing out wrinkles and fine lines.

Whisk two organic egg whites until they peak. Apply the egg white to your skin and leave it on for thirty minutes. Rinse it off with cool water, patting your skin dry gently with a towel.
