Urinary Tract Infections

• At the first sign of a bladder infection, drink large amounts of purified water to flush bacteria out of the bladder.

Colloidal silver is probably the best single product one can use for urinary tract infections, whether in the bladder or kidneys. Particle silver is best for this since the silver must pass through the stomach and ionic silver is generally converted to silver chloride when it combines with stomach acid.

• Cranberry juice. Drink a quart or more of unsweetened cranberry juice every day until symptoms subside. (Avoid cranberry juice sweetened with sugar or other concentrated sweeteners because sugar feeds the bacteria.) OR if you desire a more concentrated form, try Cranberry Concentrate or Cran Forte ; they are very good substitutes for juices.

Colloidal copper also has anti-ceptic properties and is especially good in with combination with Zinc as these elements are both important in the healing of damaged tissues.

Vitamin C . Increase vitamin C intake to 500 mg every couple of hours to create a more acidic environment in the bladder and urinary tract, which will discourage bacterial growth. If you have diarrhea when taking that much vitamin C, cut back on the amount until you no longer have loose stools, and you'll know that you've reached your tolerance level.

Acidophilus and a Probiotic are needed to restore essential bacteria when using colloidal silver and other ant-biotic supplements.

 • Calcium and Magnesium are effective in reducing bladder irritability and are essential to the proper muscular functioning of the bladder, which as a muscle must have a full range of contraction to eliminate urine.

Blueberry juice. Drink blueberry juice when you feel a urinary tract infection coming on. It contains compounds that fight the infection by preventing troublesome bacteria from adhering to the walls of your urinary tract. Down one to two eight ounce glasses of 100 percent blueberry juice daily until the infection disappears. If you buy blueberry juice cocktail, drink four glasses a day.

• It is best not to have intercourse if you have kind of urinary tract infection, but if you must, wash the vaginal area before and after sex with goldenseal tea. Pour one cup of boiling water over one teaspoon of powdered goldenseal. Cover, let steep until cool, and strain before using. Colloidal silver can also be used the same way.

• Echinacea, Oregon Grape Root and Goldenseal can be helpful in fighting infection; take two capsules three times a day or a half-teaspoon of a tincture every hour in acute cases.

• For a more severe infection, combine equal parts of pipsissewa, buchu, echinacea, and uva ursi tinctures. Take 20 drops every two hours for the first two days and then one teaspoon four times a day until the infection clears. Drink a demulcent tea such as marshmallow root at the same time to counter the strong antiseptic effect of uva ursi.

If you still have symptoms after two days or if your symptoms worsen, see your doctor, preferably one who is also trained as a naturopathic doctor.

Asthma

by Dr S. Tamer

(NaturalNews) Asthma is a serious, sometimes life-threatening respiratory disease that affects the quality of life for millions of Americans. Asthma causes swelling and irritation in your airways, making it hard for you to breathe. Asthma costs in Eastern Missouri total more than $75 million in lost school time, lost work time, and medicine and emergency room visits.

Asthma can be controlled by taking medicine and avoiding the triggers that can cause an attack. Asthma attacks can be triggered by things like mold growing on your shower curtain or tiny dust mites that live in blankets, pillow, or your child's stuffed animals. There are many studies that have looked at a variety of ways to reduce the development of asthma, some successful and some not. Although there is no cure for asthma yet, asthma can be controlled through medical treatment and management of environmental triggers.

Symptoms:

Symptoms vary widely from person to person and from situation to situation. Many people can have symptoms for years without being diagnosed, while others are mistakenly diagnosed with asthma. There are certain symptoms of asthma, including: tightness in the chest, wheezing sound, shortness of breath, persistent cough, and increased pulse or heart rate.

Treatment:

Even though asthma is a lifelong disease, treatment can control it and allow you to live an active life. Most asthma treatments include the use of short and long-term medications as well as some environmental monitoring and modifications. As with all types of medical treatments, not all patients will respond in the same way to each type of environment or possible problem. There are several alternative medicines for asthma and for some asthmatics the treatments are much more effective than the use of steroids. A variety of complementary and alternative medical therapies are now being used in the treatment and prevention of asthma. Alternative asthma therapies include diet, yoga, and breathing
exercises.

Breathing exercises:

Asthma patients tend to have abnormal breathing patterns. Several breathing exercises are presented, all focusing on breathing patterns and on imagining that healing is occurring with breathing. Do any of the breathing exercises only as long as you're comfortable. Breathing deeply helps eliminate poisons from the cells, and also enhances immunity, since the lymphatic system is actually part of the immune system. These are best learned via practical demonstration from an instructor; attempting to perform more advanced yoga breathing exercise methods without adequate instruction can result in injury.

Acupuncture:

Acupuncture is a safe, painless alternative for treating: Arthritis, fibromyalgia, back pain and carpal tunnel, allergies, asthma and other respiratory problems, anxiety, insomnia and stress. A 2001 placebo-controlled study of acupuncture for 192 people with bronchial asthma found that acupuncture improves bronchial permeability. Another study suggests improvement in the quality of life for patients with clinically stable, chronic obstructive asthma when conventional care is combined with acupuncture. By improving your health, acupuncture can help reduce the frequency and severity of asthma attacks. Another acupuncture treatment, cupping also aids in the relief of asthma symptoms. Always check with your doctor before starting any asthma treatment or managment program.

Parasites

by Tony Isaacs

To get rid of parasites:

* Do a good parasite cleanse just in case — such as one like Hulda Clark's. Her fluke theory of all cancers and diseases may be far-fetched, but her cleanses are excellent.

* Coconut oil – parasites hate it and it will help your liver (it helps keep the bile ducts open) and your balance of healthy fats too.

Some good herbs to use for parasites are:

* Artemisia

This is used to expel pinworms and treat malaria. Be sure to use the form artemisia annua, which is a famed anti-malarial herb that is in many parasitic formulas and has significant anti-cancer properties as well. While Artemisia annua is safe, Artemisia absinthium (also known as "wormwood") should be used cautiously due to its toxic and potentially addictive qualities.

* Black Walnut

Black walnut tincture and capsules are used for worms & parasitic infections.

* Cloves

Powdered cloves are used to kill larvae before they hatch. Cloves are among the most antibacterial spices known, but as we all know, a few cloves go a long way. Those with some familiarity with herbal medicine know that clove oil is also used to numb pain due to dental infection; but few know that part of the reason clove oil works so well is that it alleviates the infection. Cloves are antiseptic, bactericidal, and antiparasitic. For parasite cleansing, it is necessary to use fresh cloves that have not been irradiated. Most spices are irradiated with 35,000 the amount of radiation permitted in a chest x-ray. This is ostensibly done to eradicate bacteria, but spices are generally excellent bactericides so the irradiation is merely a way of destroying the precious properties of spices. Non-irradiated spices are available from most high-end health foods stores.

Other Beneficial Herbs Include:

* Agrimony for treating trichomonas.

* Barberry tincture is used for giardiasis & malaria.

* Echinacea tincture is used for trichomonas

* Garlic oil is used for parasitic infections.

* Goldenseal tincture used for malaria & giardiasis.

* Ipecac syrup is used for dysentery.

* Oregon Grape Root used for giardiasis & malaria.

* Pau D' Arco antiparasitic.

* Prickly Ash used to to eliminate pinworms.

Live long, live healthy, live happy!

Muscle Strain

•  Bromelain . Enhances healing and clears up bruising.

•  Magnesium . Mineral that is essential for allowing muscles to relax.

• Ice. The use of ice within the first several hours of getting a muscle strain can make the difference between a few hours and perhaps a week or longer of being sore and laid up.

•  The tried and true Epsom salt bath works magic on sore or strained muscles. Epsom salts contain magnesium, a mineral which relaxes muscles when absorbed through your skin. The salts also soothe pain and kick-start your body's muscle repair process. Dump two cups of Epsom salts into a tub filled with warm water and soak for 20 minutes.

• Apple cider vinegar. Add a couple of cups of apple cider vinegar to your bath water and soak your strained muscles until the water cools. It is also a good idea to drink a glass of water every day with a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar, as the potassium helps relieve strained muscles.

• Eucalyptus oil is also good for muscle aches and pains.

Varicose Veins

These are abnormally enlarged veins that may often cause a dull nagging ache and pains in the legs. Unlike arteries veins have tiny valves on their inner walls that prevent blood from flowing backward toward the arteries. If these valves do not function properly, circulation is restricted and blood accumulates in the veins, stretching them. It may also be caused by people who spend much time sitting or standing in the same position for long periods, generally combined with a lack of exercise.
Constipation, heart failure, liver disease, and abdominal tumors can also play a role in the formation of varicose veins. Deficiencies of Vitamin C and bioflavonoids can also lead to a weakening of the collagen structure of the vein walls, resulting in a bulging of the veins.  Varicose veins can also result in some other serious problems such as phlebitis (vein inflammation), hemorrhaging, and blood clots.

• Exercise. Never sit or stand for long periods without stretching and moving around. A regular exercise program, especially walking, should be a part of your daily schedule.

Essential Plant Minerals . Plant Mineral supplements or black strap molasses are a very good source of minerals. Take two to three teaspoons of black strap molasses orally daily. This also treats all kinds of circulatory ailments.

• Putting your feet up and applying a compress made with sage tea (Salvia officianialis) can minimize the swelling of your varicose veins. Rich in anti-inflammatory compounds, sage reduces swelling by shrinking vein walls. Steep 6 teaspoons dried sage in three cups boiling hot water for 30 minutes (double the recipe if you're treating both legs) and strain. Dunk a medium-size hand towel in the tea and gently wring it out. Sit in a spot where you can put your feet up above your heart and wrap the towel snugly around your problem leg.

Coenzyme Q10. CoQ10 improves tissue oxygenation, increases circulation and enhances immunity again infections.

• Apple cider vinegar. Apply just as it comes from the bottle to the varicose veins night and morning. Shrinking of the veins should be noticed by the end of the month.

Grape Seed Extract . GSE stimulates blood circulation and strengthens connective tissue, including that of the cardiovascular system.

• Berries. Eat large quantities of dark red berries, such as cherries, blackberries, black currants, and grapes – they contain plant compounds that restore the veins and capillaries.

• Essential Fatty Acids. These Omega 3-6-9 acids from Flax Oil and Primrose Oil help to keep blood vessels soft and pliable.

• Garlic, onions, cayenne pepper, and Bromelain (an enzyme found in fresh pineapple and also available in supplement form) which help to break down fibrin and keep the blood thinned and moving.

• Vitamin C (Ester C ). 1,000 to 3,000 mg of vitamin C reduces the tendency of blood to clot inappropriately. It is best when taken with Bromelain or bioflavonoids, both of which promote healing and retard bruising. Bromelain is an especially good digestive enzyme that enhances the absorption of other vitamins, minerals and nutrients. (Do not take Bromelain at the same time with prescription drugs in that they may intensify the effects.)

• Vitamin E. This is a very good vitamin for circulation improvement.

• Massage Ointment. Make an essential oil blend of five drops of cypress, two drops of lemon, three drops of yarrow, three drops of frankincense, and two drops of rosemary. Place fifteen drops of the essential oil blend into one ounce of calendula or St. Johns wort oil. Massage this combination gently onto varicose veins two to three times a day. Aloe Vera gel is also believed to be beneficial as a topical massage ointment for varicose veins.

• For those with advanced stages of varicose veins, wearing compression stockings for is often a good approach to try in conjunction with other remedies. Compression stockings are worn all day long. They steadily squeeze your legs, helping veins and leg muscles move blood more efficiently. Compression stockings should be strong but not too tight, because you don’t want to restrict circulation.

Our Cardio EZ product has a balanced combination of many of the supplements above as well as EDTA (which has been used for decades to reduce circulatory blockages with its chelation properties) and may be a good choice for many suffers of varicose veins.

Cramping

• Yogurt or Calcium/Magnesium . Eat two cups of yogurt a day in the days or week leading up to your period and you should not be moody or have cramps when your monthly period comes. If you don’t like yogurt, take a calcium/magnesium supplement. Continue during the time of your menstrual period. Calcium and magnesium deficiencies may be the cause of PMS or PMS-like symptoms. With either one, you should see a big difference in your cramps and your attitude.
Inositol . May relieve PMS symptoms and aids in nerve impulse transmission and helps prevent estrogen-related cancer.

• Acidophilus. Relieves symptoms by breaking down metabolites of estrogen.

Flaxseed Oil and Primrose Oil . These oils supply gamma-linolenic acid (GLA), an essential fatty acid that is important in relieving symptoms and aiding proper glandular function.

Vitamin B Complex and B12 . Crucial in the relief of stress and is essential for proper functioning of the adrenal gland.

• Pumpkin Seeds. Eat pumpkin seeds about a week before your menstrual period (a handful–1/4 of a cup a day) and your cramps should be non-existent. Also eat them as a snack during the period.

• Hot water and ginger. Boil the water and stir in two to three tablespoons of ginger and drink it up. You should feel better in 30-45 minutes.

• Dill pickle juice. Drink a half cup when you feel a cramp coming or as soon as it strikes. One heaping teaspoon of salt in water (1 to 2 to one glass) may also do the trick if you have no pickle juice handy.

• Oregano and water. Take three tablespoons of essential oil of oregano and mix with one liter of water, then bring to boiling and continue to boil for five minutes. Strain and drink as tea. You should feel better soon and continue to feel well for an entire day. Caution. Do not use ‘fragrance oil’, which is chemically manufactured.

Burns

• Flame burns. If you find someone burning, roll the victim on the ground preferably after wrapping with non-synthetic rugs, blankets or a coat.
• Chemical burns. Wash thoroughly the burned area under running water for at least 30 minutes.
• Cut the clothing away from the burned area, if it adheres to the burned area, do not try to peel it loose.
• Avoid undue contamination of burn wound from dirt.
• Colloidal Silver. Immediately apply colloidal silver to the burned area. Silver will aid in keeping bacterial infection down.
• Aloe Vera. This miracle plant promotes the proper healing of the damaged skin and works especially well in combination with silver.
• Next apply ice pack or cloth soaked in ice water and change them constantly
• Do not use cotton directly on burns as it adheres to it.
• Do not apply Ink, Mercurochrome, greases or baking soda over burned area.
• In the case of any severe burn, seek professional medical care immediately after treating as noted above.

Less severe burn treatments and sunburn
• Colloidal Silver. Again the very best burn treatment for any kind of burn is colloidal silver.
• Aloe Vera. Use aloe vera gel or the juice from a cut aloe vera leaf. Apply frequently to keep burn area from drying out.
• Lavender essential oil (Lavandula angustifolia). Best known for its soothing scent, but you can also use it to take the sting out of a first-degree burn (the kind you might get by touching a hot pan). Not only does this oil speed the healing process and prevent
scarring, but it also fights bacteria on vulnerable new skin. Gently clean the burn with soap and water first. Then combine one part pure lavender essential oil and three parts carrier oil, like almond or olive oil, and apply the mixture liberally to the burn at least three times a day, leaving the wound uncovered.
• Potato. Cut a potato in half and put it on the burn area. The starch neutralizes the burn, pain and future scarring. Also works great on sunburns.

Foot Odor

• Chlorophyll, the same plant compound that gives plants their green color, can also sweeten your feet. Pour two to three teaspoons liquid chlorophyll into a bucket filled with a gallon of warm water, and soak your feet for 15 minutes. Dry your feet completely afterward, and wear cotton socks which let your feet breathe.
Colloidal Silver . After a bath or shower, spray colloidal silver on your feet allowing them to dry before putting on socks and shoes. Silver is an excellent anti-microbial agent and kills bacteria on contact. Once a week or so, spray colloidal silver in your shoes and boots (if you’re from Texas or Montana) and allow to dry. You can also spray silver on your socks, but remember particle silver may stain light colored socks.

• Apple cider vinegar. To eliminate foot odor, soak your feet several times a week in one-third cup of apple cider vinegar added to a small pan of warm water.

• Tea. The tannic acid found in tea can help eliminate foot odor. Make a pot of tea, without adding sugar or lemon, and pour it into a dishpan. Wait until the tea is no longer too hot, and then soak your feet in it for ten minutes. Soap and water should remove any stain the tea leaves on your feet.

• Baking soda. Sprinkle baking soda inside your shoes to absorb moisture and odor.

Zinc . Get 15 to 30 milligrams of Zinc per day either alone or in a multi-vitamin. This should reduce or eliminate the odor within a week or two. The zinc may make the skin more resistant to the bacteria causing the odor. Don't take more than 30 mg. of zinc without medical supervision since high levels of zinc can interfere with the absorption of copper and can damage the immune system.

• Boots, shoes, and socks made with natural materials like leather and cotton breathe better than man-made materials like plastic and nylon, allowing heat to escape. Except for very open shoes, footwear made of synthetic material should never be worn since the water (sweat) retention can substantially increase the growth of bacteria. 100% cotton socks are best.

Ulcers

Colloidal Silver . Research has proven that many ulcers are caused by bacteria and there is nothing more effective in killing bcteria and other one-celled organisms than silver.

Honey . Honey soothes and reduces inflammation of the lining of the stomach.

• Bananas. Eat at least three bananas a day. This will coat your stomach and sooth your ulcer pain.

• Cayenne pepper. Cayenne pepper is a wonderful ulcer healing spice. And it dulls the pain! It's a bit strong and may take getting used to. Start with oneeighth teaspoon of cayenne pepper in a glass of water twice a day. Work your way up to a quarter-teaspoon. If you would rather, you can take cayenne capsules that you can get at the health food store. Take three a day right after meals.

• Raw cabbage. One of the best home remedies for ulcers is raw cabbage. To make it easy, juice your cabbage with a juicer. Try mixing it with carrots in your juicer to make it go down easier! (it's not too bad, honest!) Drink half a cup of the juice before each meal and at bed time (make sure that it is fresh!). Don't be surprised if you ulcer is gone within a few weeks!

• A few other great ulcer remedies are: barley water, Aloe Vera juice, propolis capsules, licorice root or marshmallow root.

• Proper digestion is also helpful in curing or alleviating the symptoms of ulcers. Enzymes , Acidophilus , and Pancreatin will promote healthier digestion.
